> Quote - FerryMan uses its own format to persist layer/group information. No other formats are supported currently. So, you cannot import Apo perameters into Ferryman.Well the next thing I tried was to take the parameters from Apophysis and try to re-create them in Ferryman but it proved to be too difficult. So now I take the layers and import them into Gimp so that I can layer them.

Well I have to admit that all of this is slowing dawning on me.
As I have downloaded from the site its just occuring to me now that I, myself could join the site and upload my (soon to be worked on and completed) stuff. I didn't even know anything about the "getting paid" part until I read their FAQ.
I have to admit that I don't understand how they are making money from it. I saw the word "ads" mentioned but I haven't seen any advertising on the sites where I have downloaded stuff.

That's too bad! I LOVE reading the forums!
BTW the 1 - 2 % that read the forums surely do make the forums look quite busy/popular and if that's just a percentage of the total member number then that means that renderosity has a lot of members!
Thread: Want to teach 3D animation on a budget to Highschool kids (need advice) | Forum: Community Center
I have to tell you that my "day" job is grant research and your post struck me as interesting. If you can figure out the right "curve" you may be able to get funding for this kind of program for your students.
The naked V3 does bring up some issues I'm sure (that I hadn't thought of).
I'm also wondering if its your plan for each of the students to have their own software program or whether you will be teaching using A source program.
If you want them to model individual simple models then there is a simple modeling program that I have called Spatch. I have had this program for a while now and I don't know if its still available for free but it is a great program for simple modeling.
By the way, just as a side note - I live near an art school - Temple's Tyler School of Art and I was reading how some of the students use 3d programs for their renderings - one I specifically remember is a jewelery design student that uses the Rhino program to design her jewelery..

As another Daz "newbie", I appreciate the link as well - who knows - maybe sometime soon I'll post something here! - Just to remind myself that I should be rendering!
Thread: Tentacles? | Forum: Freestuff
Tentacles can refer to the elongated flexible organs that are present in some animals, especially invertebrates, and sometimes to the hairs of the leaves of some insectivorous plants. Usually, they are used for feeding, feeling and grasping. ~Wikipeida
The CS Tentacle is a highly articulate figure designed to create an almost limitless variety of poses. Divided into four sections, each with its own set of Easy Pose controls, you can easily produce fantastic and complicated results with as little as four dial moves.
It makes a great root as well as nasty alien appendage. The included six textures are easily assigned as MAT poses in Poser.
DAZ Studio users get three materials provided by Katherine Briggs with instructions below on how to access more.
Enjoy and as always we would love to see what you do with our products.

Quote - I want to make person. How do I get a person to show up on my screen? What is the basic program I need to create a 3D image of a human being?
At least this question I can answer! You have to use a modeling program in order to be able to make characters from scratch. Now hopefully you have had some experience with this because a LOT of work is involved with making characters from scratch.
There are a lot of free modeling programs that you can download from the internet.

I think its great to have a blog as long as you don't get too obsessive or addicted like me. I currently have 3 blogs - 1 professional, 1 personal and one is a "Getting To Know You" blog. It's starting to get crowded because it seems almost every new site you want to join allows you to have a blog. I just joined myspace not too long ago and guess what - another blog I'm able to have.
It's too bad about the "spam" though but hopefully you have the option to moderate them before they are posted.

Of course now (wouldn't you know) my online speed isn't so hot so I'll have to either wait and try it offline or wait until my speed is up to par and try it then. But I have copied and saved your post and will let you know how it turns out.Thread: February Writing Challenge - Love! | Forum: Writers

Since this is the day
that is set aside for love
let me take this day
and expand upon it thereof
Let love of life and love of love
stretch far beyond the heavens above
Let my love flow from inside and out
and let this love flow freely
and as this love swirls freely about
let there be no room for hesitation
and let there be no room for doubt
For this love that I so freely cast out
It is what I want in return and what I can't live without.

Quote - Rose: IE7 works great "BUT" there are some plug ins it doesn't like, there is a list of plug ins in your properties box [I think that's where it is] and it tells you which ones it doesn't like, untick them and it should work ok!
Do you mean the "Options" menu? 'Cause "properties" just takes to the properties of the webpage I'm viewing at the time. Couldn't even find out about the plug ins in IE's "help" section

Now this sounds very interesting to me and I think I will give it a try (like I don't have enough to do!)Thread: Browser crashing. | Forum: Community Center

Well mine is a different problem of sorts and I think it all started when I downloaded and installed IE7. Since it was installed I have been having no end of problems. I can't use the drop down menus, get any of my media players to upload a web link.I'm kind of afraid of trying to un-install it so I'm still figuring out what to do with it (besides throw it out the window!)

Quote - How do you let peeps know you have updated your blogg and how do you know someone has commented on your blogg ? - probably a stupid question, but it's sunday and I've had a helluva week.....
Well you can submit your blog to those sites that list when you update your blog.
If you post a link to your blog maybe we can help you more. Some blog sites have different options.
The most simple answer to your 2nd question would be for you to go to your blog and see if any comments were added to your posts.
