If you want Bryce to import the texture maps you applied to the figure in Poser. Browse to the location of every texture map applied in Poser, make a copy of them, then save the copy to the same folder that the exported OBJ file is located in. ( that is what D/S does when it exports OBJ ) When Bryce looks for texture maps, it defaults to the same location that the imported obj file came from. If all the texture maps are located at that location it will auto load them. If you have set up your texture maps with alpha channels in Photoshop. Then the maps will load with alpha info for bump and/or transparency. But you may need to assign a texture window to the bump, specularity, or transparency channels in Bryce's Material Lab. The texture window may also need Alpha scaling enabled for the channel setting to be correct. Material options may also need to be manually set to correct the material. I believe the Turbo Importer is suppose to set the bumb channel to the proper texture window. Not sure about the Transparency or Reflective channels.

Turbo Importer basically takes the place of the Bryce obj importer plug-in found in the Bryce plug-in folder. It's named is OBJimporter.bro
Thread: Using masks in Photoshop 6 | Forum: Bryce
Here's kind of a step by step. I still use PS 5.5, should be the same as 6 Open all 3 of your images, The render from Bryce, The Mask render ( from Bryce ) and the background image from Universe creator. For best they should all be the same resolution. Select the Move tool, then hold the shift key and drag and drop the Bryce render then the Bryce mask render to the Background image. If they are the same resolution all 3 will be centered to the canvas. If your not familiar with layers in PS, you will need to open the layer tools, Window/Show Layers. all 3 images will be separate layers. Click the mask layer making it current ( it should also be the top layer ) then do as Claymor said and use the magic wand to select all the white areas in the mask ( you may need to shift click with the wand tool, to make multi selected areas. Once the selection is made, hide the Mask layer by clicking it's eye icon in the layer window. Then make the Bryce render the current layer. Right click the layer and select Layer Via Copy. This will create a new layer of just the selected area. Then discard the old layer. You may want or need to use some of the tools found under Select/Modify to adjust the selection before you layer via copy. You can also save the selection under Select/Save Selection, so you can call upon it at a later time ( Select/Load Selection ) without using the mask again.

On a Pacific flight to Kauai, Stewardess : In case of a water landing your seat cushion is a floatation device. Intoxicated Passenger ( Me ): Can this plane really land on water? or would that be considered a crash. Warning...never ever say this on a passenger plane, they get extremely upset.

Similar to UVmapper, but will open many type 3d model files.Thread: Meager attempt at animating rolling wheel motion... | Forum: Bryce
If the wheels are part of a group or linked to another object try this. Select only the wheels, then open the Attributes menu, on the linking tab disable all the Propagate options. This may or may not work...might also need to set new keyframes.

drawbridgep, I ran it through Amorphium 3, Bryce can be temperamental about the way some files are coded. ICM, the free version of uvmapper only opens/saves obj files.

How much memory is counted up during the memory test at boot up? I ran into an issue when adding ram, same type memory sticks made by 2 different manufactures. They did not play well together at all. Had to take it back and get a new stick from the same manufacturer as the first.

Here are some sets of primitives, turned into Bryce OBP. Most primitive types are covered here, with different levels of rounded and chambered edges. Each set can be downloaded separately, or there are links at the top & bottom of the page to download all sets. These primitives help when Boolean modeling in Bryce. http://stevesartgallery.bryce-alive.net/downloads/bryce/objects/shapes/shapes1.htmlThread: Technical Bryce question | Forum: Bryce
Yes xenic101 you are correct, disable that option and Bryce will not save a BMP with the scene file. You will also not be able to stop a render, close the project, then resume the render with this options turned off. The best JPG compressor ( IMO ) is Photo Impact, it beats PSP, and PS in file size and quality.
Thread: exporting in .obj format | Forum: Bryce
Imported objects can be exported by selecting them, bring up the Edit option ( E Icon, smooth option ) then press Ctrl D keys. File type can be selected using the Save As pull down menu. ( also works on Rocks, Lattices and Terrains )
Thread: How do you.... | Forum: Bryce
( god i hope daz gets rid of all these silly mac-loving shortcuts... or at least writes all of them down somewhere. ) Bet you didn't like playing hide & seek as a child....lol ( it only works for regular normal AA ) That's because Super and Premium render settings do not make an AA pass. ( notice super & premium render settings does not say Anti Aliasing, on the final pass, like normal AA mode does ) ( And maybe in the new features there will be the option to decide what amount of AA you can give to the single object... ) Using Super mode and setting Rays Per Pixel, is as close as it gets right now.
Thread: Image resizing | Forum: Bryce
Over sampling isn't as common as it use to be. To over sample a complex scene in B5 could take over 2 or more days even with AA turned off. If you haven't hear render time in Bryce is it's biggest downfall.
