I haven't been here so long, and I admit I'm guilty of over-use of my shuttle model (though it has changed alot since its first use - it gets a little better each time). That said its going into 'retirement' soon, though I dare say I'll play with it again. Even so, I try to vary my use of colour, lighting and POV to give an interesting composition each time. Whether I succeed or not I don't know - thats for you to judge - but as vangogh and D@M said the comments are what make it worthwhile, particularly from members that I have a great deal of respect for. Re what D@M said; It was a long time after I joined here that I felt I could comment in these forums, and I still think twice about it before I do. As for the Vickie in a temple issue - I suggested (in the 'suggestion box' forum) the ability to have gallery viewing preferences, similar to the hide forum options we have. Seems to have been forgotten though. I don't know about standards slipping, but there are less images posted now that make my jaw drop than when I joined. I don't put that down to a lack of quality, but a flood newer users (isn'y it 200+ each day?), perhaps posting everything they do.

Its an interesting app, thats for sure - very 'By Eye' though. Sometimes I like numbers.

ummm... I started with Bryce, been using it for years, its my favourite app and I can't see anything replacing it. I don't consider myself a newbie, but I still learn something new every day. Everything finishes up in Bryce, one way or another, but I'm also definitely a heretic, being a Wings and GeoControl user (is GeoControl heresy? - I'm not sure). On the other hand I've used Booleans to do diagrams for university projects. So... I dunno.

Only Bryce uses OBP, so nothing will convert it.  To bring figures + scene together you'd have to  export from Poser as an OBJ file and import that into Bryce.
Similar to what amigafreak said, double clicking the centre render button will also bring up a scene set up box, where you can select from even more document sizes - pick one thats the best for you.

In my experience those shadows can be sorted using Bryce's mesh edit tool - Its the furthest to the right on the Edit palette.  Pressing 'unsmooth' gives you the raw model, so to speak.  I find that adjusting the slider to 22 or 28 degrees will usually get an imported model how I want it to look. 

I've recently discovered that textures can be blended using the material editor which has led to me half UV mapping models, and blending with object cubic applied textures.  This is good for putting logos over panelling, and is how I textured the shuttle in my 'Golden Age' image.]

@Bryster: Have Choice been alright for you? They're cheap alright so I bought loads at once, but then came to use them and found all the combined colour cartridges (I have an Epson) to be missing a colour! I wasn't exactly impressed. I've since discovered TESCO do their own Epson compatibles, and since I give them practically all my money anyway... : )

I use FireFox for everything, but I've tried it in IE6 and got the same. I contacted Dassault and they say they have no record of me trying to register either my name or e-mail, so I guess the submit button doesn't work for me. Could anything cause that?

Has anyone had problems registering it? My browser just goes blank, and I haven't yet had an e-mail from them...

hrm - anyone know a way of converting .dds to .jpg, or willing to do it for me? My GIMP plug-in is having none of it :cursing:
