You can use Grouper or MeTaL Fixer to fix the I/O Media error. MeTaL Fixer is available at my site - http://www.fignations.com/jelisa/mtl/mtl_fixer.html Grouper is available at http://www.castironflamingo.com
Thread: SDK for DAZ|Studio | Forum: DAZ|Studio
DAZ hasn't announced the release of the SDK yet, but I believe that's what's being worked on now.
Thread: Is there any way to convert .c4d file to .obj one ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Attached Link: Get Riptide plugin here
Here's something that worked for me with C4D v8 until my full version came in: Download the demo version of C4D and install. Download and install the Riptide plugin - http://www.skinprops.com/ Open the .C4D file in C4D and export as OBJ via the Riptide plugin.Thread: Want Your Library To Open/Display Instantaneously?... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
At first this sped up how long it took Poser 6 to open, but now, P6 takes about 10-15 minutes to open up on my machine. My sister has been using it to rig a figure she modeled, but other than that, I've been using DS since it only takes a few seconds to load.
Thread: How to Install Daz and B5.5c | Forum: Bryce
The only way to overwrite any library files when installing DS is if you also install the Base Content, but that will only overwrite the previous DS Base Content, not anything else.
Thread: DragonCon Images - Thanks Everyone | Forum: Bryce
well ... the only photo I actually took was when Moriah ... Steve K took some video .... wonder if he could pull out a few frames from that?
Thread: Very brief Dragon*Con report | Forum: Community Center
I saw that image and thought it was adorable, just didn't realize that it was your booth! I met SndCastie as well as a few others folks, mostly from being at the table by the entrance to the art show and the three panels I did or assisted with. Was a blast!

Thread: DAZ forums so SLOOOOOWWWW | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
When DAZ does major maintenance, they usually shut everything down and put up a maintenance message. Backups pretty much run all the time and shouldn't affect forum speed that much if at all. I did call DAZ up after reading this thread and they aren't noticing any slowness (neither am I), however, they did ask me to find out a couple of things: 1. Are there specific time periods in the morning when this is happening? 2. When does it seem to revert to normal speeds? 3. Is this during US mornings or European mornings? Thanks.
Thread: Bryce Hi-band, Lo-Band?? | Forum: Bryce
As mentioned, the only difference between the Hi- and Lo-Bandwidth versions are that the Lo-Bandwidth version is broken up into multiple files for easier download for dial-up users. Do not use any download accelerators while downloading from DAZ. DAZ provides a warning prior to downloading that they need to be turned off prior to downloading. -darlisa

Not that I'm aware of if you installed them to separate directories. I can check for sure though, may take a few days to get a reply.
Thread: Siggraph and are you going to be there...? | Forum: Bryce
I would have loved to go this year as well, but like BT, my real job got in the way (well, actually, I just don't have enough vacation days saved up after my hospital stay) but I'll be at DragonCon for DAZ in September, so there are compensations.

If the problem has "migrated to Bryce 5" I'd be more likely to look at a hardware/RAM problem if the two versions are on the same computer. Especially since the two programs are independent of each other.
