Hmm. I read the SM tutorial on working with the morph brush and it did tell me how to export the morph target. I then imported 'full body morph' the way I would with a morph created elsewhere and it didn't seem to work.
Do you by chance have any knowledge of where I could find step by step instructions on that process?
Thank you.

Ok, back to this, more problems.
I have done everything suggested here. I parented all the windows to the 'outerwalls' In the hierarchy editor.
Then I used snarlys scene fixer and made only the appropriate trans dial visible.
I renamed those trans dials as "open window' and the tab for the dials I renamed 'windows'.
Then I went back to the hierarchy editor and hit the 'new figure'. named it and saved it.
Now I go and load this new figure in.
Firstly it loads in with the figure name as 'figure'. Which I didn't like. So I edited that in the .cr2 with text editor. No problem there.
But all the dang windows now have all the dials back, except the ones I want!
I try fixing it again, with scene fixer, and saving back to the figure library, specifically making sure to have the main body selected.
Now when I load it, the the outerwalls are missing and the only things that load in are the windows. It says the outer walls are there, but can't see them. And they are checked as 'visible'.
The plus is, I suppose, the dials on the windows that I edited, did stay.

Okay, I followed this process. It does seem like it will be sooo much easier than having to create all the morphs. BUT when I do the steps, then load in the new figure A wall with a window to test. The window does not have any trans dials on it. It has rotate and scale and taper. But no XYZ trans.
Am I missing a check box somewhere to show them? I did click show all parameters in the hierarchy editor.

"its interesting watching you guys blindly taking up for Smithmicro and quickly blame me."
As far as I go, that's not the case at all.
I know that 'companies' are quick to say 'its your fault'. Sometimes it's BS.
I also know it can be a complete pain in the @.
I am by no means a 'fan girl'. I just think your attitude about it, might have worked against you. Whether you are right or wrong, the fact remains that your Poser didn't work. So I just think you'd have got a better reception with less of the "It's not ft knox".
It's also still possible that it IS on your end. Not saying that's a certainty, I'm saying it's possible. Were it me, I'd follow every possibility to it's conclusion.
I hate DS. Or anything produced by them really. But who can argue against free.

WOW! That is very useful info. I didn't have any clue it could be done that way. Thank you very much.
A couple small questions, I hope I'm not being too much of a pain.
How would I go about adjusting the joint centers for the doors?
And also, you mentioned that the materials are a lot easier this way. Why is that?
Thank you so much!

okay, I follow what you are saying.
Unfortunately I have never worked in the set up room at all.
Would this process require giving bones to the doors and windows?
I actually kinda like this as an option because I was slightly unhappy with the whole thing loading in as props anyway.

I think it has added like 2.00 charges to me before for 'extended download' services. In which case there would be a charge in your cart, and cc required unless you remove that option from your cart. It's not that hard.
As other people have said, a CC is not required for a service update alone. Period.
Don't want to come off as rude, but if you are reading the cart at smith micro wrong, and missing something there, it's possible you missed something else somewhere too.
Ever hear the phrase: You catch more flies with honey?
If you were sooo looking forward to it, why not at least give some of the solutions offered you a try?
For the record, due to a completely separate issue, I just downloaded the latest service release from smith micro. My serial number allowed me to place it in my cart. NO credit card was required. This was literally 2 minutes ago, the download just finished.

Thread: Grouping Morphs in a .pp2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sweet. I had seen the 'create group' when I right clicked, but I didn't realize I could just drag the morphs in there.
Thank you very much!

Content Advisory! This message contains profanity
I ALWAYS read the readme on merchant resources, and pretty much anything else I purchase from renderosity before buying.
As to what joequick has said, whooooaaaa that has me HEATED right now. I was completely unfamiliar with 'filter forge'.
In all honestly, most of the copyright hoopla that goes on around here is laughable at best most of the time. This however, is clearly questionable ethics. I would not doubt one single bit if your post on this issue goes missing in the very near future.
I have a new texture set coming out right now, it's called: color me pissed.

Thread: Making a new Female Base Model? Don't want to disappoint? Checklist. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As to the debate that was had, oh I wish I could respond to some. But I've rode that ride before and it made me sick.. so to the original statements.
1: Genitalia
For my use, I will not buy another model that isn't male or female to start with. However much some have no use for them, I want them. Tits do not make a woman. So I'm sorry you can't just throw a couple of lady humps on them and call it a day IMO. Well you can, but I'm not going to buy it.
2. Realistic joints:
Yes. For the love of god make the hands work right. I don't care how many bones you have to put in there, I want her to be able to hold things. I want her to be able to DO things with her hands. Feet, the same. Please put enough in there that I can have more than default and shoe poses.
At the same time, please keep in mind those that will be making clothing to support the figure. Don't make it a nightmare. Grouping on toes is something as well. Please keep the groups in the foot area to a minimum.
3. Morphable face and body.
Again YES. I'd prefer that the base mesh was just plain. No outstanding features. Example: Nostrils and Toes on V4. Don't make it ugly either. Dawn is like a 10 drink date.
4. Morphs. All of 'em. Launch with all of them.
Meh on this one, I can see the purpose in launching in two packs. It's understandable. I guess it depends on the price of the package. I think around $30 is good for the base model, $20 for the morphs++, and then extra smaller morph packs should cost a little less unless they include as much. So if you wanted to make it $50 base + morphs that would be understandable. One catch there though. Often a person will want to first buy the base figure to find if they even like it (that's what I did with Dawn) I would not have spent $50 on Dawn out of the gate, and if I had I would be PISSED. Keeping model apart from morphs gives customers a chance to try it out before fully invested. I really didn't mind Daz's business model in this regard.
5. Breasts.
They do all disappoing don't they. I love the idea of starting out with NO breasts and then being able to morph them in. It's easier to add than to take away in this regard. I'd like to see the nipple area connect to breast size in this way too, and then to be able to adjust the nipple individually after. With V4 once you change the breast too much the nipple has those edge lines become so visible. I hate that. Thank god for zbrush.
Also: I'd really like to see launch with one outfit and one hair. They don't have to be the bestest, they don't have to even have more than one texture. But out of the box I'd like to be able to get a feel for how the model is going to work in the major areas.
Before anyone comments on my lack of gallery images, I don't post my images here anymore. As a matter of fact, I don't post here much at all these days. The way this conversation has been attacked and then "handled" are the reasons for that. I made that clear in the poll yet again this year. I'm pretty sure it's irrelevant lol.
