They can sometimes be imported in a huge size. Unless you're zoomed out a long way you're looking at the empty core. You may need to set the scale to 10% or less when importing.
Do you get an entry in the props list top- left of the document window or in the hierarchy window?

Have you had the V4.2++ morphs long? Do they work if you apply and set an individual FBM such as Voluptuous or BodyBuilder or with characters? Could be you need to initialise them with DZCreateEXPFiles-V4.bat in :Runtime:libraries:!DAZ! folder

Maybe it's because they're messing with stuff from my childhood but the only comic film I've been totally satisfied with has been Guardians of the Galaxy. The same with the Star Trek reboot- Ok as stand alone films but they've thrown away too much. Then again maybe I'm looking back with too much rose tint.

It depends on how you use Poser. I upgraded for creating weight-map joints and GPU rendering for Superfly.
If you can grab it when it's on sale I'd say it's a no-brainer.

Jeri does have very strong features and despite some dial twiddling I still get Scarlett. The promo images look a lot different to what I can get
