I had a similar question a week or two ago, but mine was a silhouette with depth shading. I went to Poser 8 from version 6, so I don't know if 7 has this but, select the render preview option from the tab at the top of the preview window. Look hborre's second reply to me on this thread http://market.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2805770 hope this helps.

hborre thankyou so much!
I had been looking in the render settings from the top menu bar and couldn't find what I was looking for. I had no idea of the different options on the render tab.
I still find it harder absorbing e-instruction manuals etc than hard copy ones, otherwise I might have known that.

I think that I need to clarify what I am asking.
I am using a technique from years ago to create a z-depth map in poser.
Make sure all figures and objects are white (not sure if this is needed)
Set the background colour to black.
Set document style to sillhouette.
Select depth in display.
Delete all lights.
The preview now shows a z-depth map that can be saved and used for DOF as well as other things. Unfortunatley I don't know of a way to render this type of image and I cannot make the preview image (thus the image saved from the preview) to the dimensions of the main image that I will be using it on.

Quote - HEH!
All I needed was some time to think.
Howzabout this?
I also like number 3 and the layout of the "flag" way better than the new look but personally I'd lose the long sleeves. She's an amazon, pretty fit, toned. I know she's getting on a bit, but I don't think she has any "bingo wings" to cover up yet! :)

Quote - Wonder Woman is fundamentally about fetish gear. The corset, the rope fetish, the heels - this new stuff is all trash, I dunno what DC is thinking. They need to get back to their deviant freako roots. She needs a nice modern c-string, tall heels (DUH), vinyl corset and a golden metal potato-masher bra with straps everywhere, not this stupid "jacket and pants" crap.
If they ever remade the tv series or a film:
Don't set it in modern day (war in Iraq etc, there enough stuff on tv and film abought them at the moment), during one of the World Wars is best. Retro is best. The way to modernise it would be to tell the story but using the technology available today.
Get the production team and special effects guys behind "Sparticus Blood: and Sand" to make it, so it gives it the comic book feel without without the "crappy" comic book style of Batmans Forever and Robin.
Possibly cast an unknown or less well know actress in the role. Eg someone who isn't going to use it to just get more publicity for themselves and rufuse to do any sequels/ demand huge pay rise then still turn in a "can't really be bothered performance".
Give it a rating of at least 15, so it it isn't too kiddie friendly, and for god's sake keep it away from Disney and Ang Lee!

Didn't follow the comics, bit I watched the tv series when I was little, then got the dvds when they came out. I thought that the idea was, that she was hundreds (possibly a thousand?) years old, and that the women who lived on her island were the same.
The first series which I think was based more on the comic than the others was set during I think it was WW1? (that's World War, not Wonderwoman 1!). Her costume was a mixture ancient defensive jewellry (the tiara, the braclets and the lasso of truth) and the rest of the outfit made up of garmets that looked like the American flag (probably to distract Americans from the fact that the red star on the tiara looked suspiciously Soviet and also prevent "friendly fire"! ) ;)
The first series was the best, then came the Deirdre Barlow specs in the second, and the annoying little gold robot in the third. Some characters work best when you don't modernise them.
As someone already mentioned, the new costume looks like Rogue, and I think it looks a bit like Jubilee from the cartoon. Marvel wouldn't be too happy.
She's supposed to be Wonder Woman a DC Comics classic, not "Biker Chick from Marvel" and she seems to have ditched the flag, probably trying to appeal to a more international audience?
Keep her the way she was!
Next up! Captain America ditches costume for a Hawiian shirt, Detroit Tigers baseball cap and a moustache. Look out Magnum!

Will I have to run the figure updater to put the additional morph pack channels that I have back into V4 after I have run the new V4 installer (does it overwrite the previously installed V4)?

Quote - Bringing this up in the Poser forum will not help fix any problems. :)
Maybe not, but it raises the awareness of other customers to the potential problem, and as far as I am aware, this is the second thread started by a different person on the same subject in the past few days. People understandably don't want to find themselves in court over unclear terms of use.
The moderators advice then was to contact the vendor first. Good advice, however if the problem is wider than just one or two sellers then Renderosity should do something to make the terms clearer to buyers and sellers, not rely on individual sellers. (after all, as the providers of the hosting and transaction side, they get a cut of the money).
Like most users here I read the sites terms and conditions etc.
The gist of which seems to be:
Don't sell or illegally share meshes/ models/ textures created from a product.
Sharing or selling your own artwork created/ rendered using a product is fine.
While for many Poser is a hobby, for many others it is one of the tools of their trade. The majority of products sold here are "drill bits to fit the drill". "I don't mould and cast new drill bits from the original to sell and go into the drill bit manufacturering busines , but if I use the drill bit in my drill as a tool to make furniture or something, I don't expect the drill bit manufacturer to say "you can't sell that chair, you used one of my drill bits to make the holes in the wood!"".
Individual terms and conditions in readme files can be unclear and confusing especially when something can be interpreted in more than one way.
I believe that creators of content that is provided free should have the right to say that it cannot be used commercially. Likewise, content that is created loosely based on something from a tv show or film etc should be fine in most cases, as long as it is provided free and cannot be used for commercial work. (personal use / fan artwork only).
Why anyone would want to pay for a product from here that they can can only use of personal use is beyond me. If the seller insists on putting the non commercial clause in for a paid for item, then it should be made clear in bold letters on the products page and not hidden away in a confusing readme file.
We have content advisory flags in the forum, surely it would be better for vendors and us to have a standard terms of use but possibly with clear usage flags on the products page?
While some threads can be an attack on someone, I don't think that this was the intention or spirit of this subjuct. It was merely to warn other users of the dangers of "not reading the fine print".

Thread: Exporting hair props to .obj | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
i posted a similar proble quite a while ago but didn't really get any replies that were helpfull for what I wanted to do.
I am usesless at using the styling tools in the hair room, but managed to get a "towseled" look that I liked by animating the figure with the hair and scullcap parented to it.
What I wanted to do, was to save the style in a particular frame as dynamic hair.
First I was told to export it from that frame as an obj, then re-import it. Looked great in preview but as there were no faces did not show it render.
Then I tried using one of the above programs, but it didn't look as good when converted to polygons.
Basically is there any way of saving the shape/style of dynamic hair from a particular frame , as dynamic hair rather than the default first frame, for use in another project?

Quote - An easier way to fix poke thru in the cloth room is to shrink the genital in frame one and then have it assume the final shape desired in frame 15 or 30 (depending on what you use for the final frame)..
Was skimming through this topic quickly without my reading glasses on. At first I thought you'd put about "fixing poke thru in the cold room.......".
I don't think that works Poser men!

Thread: restrictions on new product here in MP? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - No, actually they can say whatever they like for paid content too. remember the anna marie goddard morph for V3 at renderosity where they said you couldn't use your renders for porn for example?
I think that the only reason that this applied was that the morphs and textures were created using the actual Anna Marie Goddard as the model for them. I can understand her wanting restrictions put on what her "likeness" is used for. One of the reasons other people coined the term "Poser-porn" is that there is some pretty hard-core stuff out there on the net created with Poser. I know that if there was a Poser figure created to look like me, I wouldn't want it used for stuff like that.
This is also why celebrity-look-alike morphs could also include a restricted use policy.

Quote - that's a very good point.
But I am worried that the intent also applies to morphing the character differently too. Not to use as base for other textures or products
do not rebuild any of the included files
??
Most likey means that you cannot take the morph make the nose for example a bit bigger then either sell it or post as a freebie. I would think that you could use any render that you created with it for artwork including for selling a product like clothing (best to state character not included thought).
My understanding is for free stuff, someone can say "Not for commercial use" meaning do not use for commercial renders and do not redistribute any of the files in the package.
For paid for content someone can say "Do not redistribute any of the included files". If someone pays for something they can use it to create rendered art, free or commercial but not distribute or modify and distribute any of included the files.
If someone was selling a product that you couldn't use in renders that you create, they would make no money because why would anyone want to buy it?

Thread: Anyone used Cloth Room Assistant for Poser 8? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Quote - PhilC has some Free Cloth Textures, similar to this Progs Cloth textures, for the Poser Cloth Room.
Yes I know, I have some free settings for different materials that he did ages ago. What I wanted to know about were the other new features that C.R.A. includes that I mentioned above. I use Poser for animation quite a bit and was hoping these new features would provide additional tools to the cloth simulation process.

Quote - Personally, I like M4/V4 much better than M3/V3. The face shapes can be a little frustrating at times - but DAZ is pretty good about supplying new morph packs. I didn't care for the Mil 3 shoulders at all. I would buy V5/M5 if/when they become available. I think DAZ is certainly committed to developing their figures and making them user friendly. I just wish that Smith Micro had developed their figures to a similar or higher level of realism.
Totally agree with the part about the native Poser figures, I only ever use them as background figures, and usually just the "pre-clothed" ones, because it saves me time. If you look at adverts or graphics used in tv programmes that have used Poser, they just use the basic figures with no modification.
