Obviously everyone is going to be biased in some way. I personally would say Mental Ray (which comes with Maya and I think Softimage XSI) unless of course you can afford 'Renderman' (which I can't :P) But just rendering with a better bit of software won't necesarily improve an image dramatically - you need to know how to take full advantage of the extra features.

Fortunately I have a hardware firewall so unless I'm stupid enough to open a random attachment I should be fine (touch wood :P) I keep all my mails off my computer at yahoo so I don't have issues with attachements I can't remove. This isn't the first time I have noticed this apparent link. After a poser crash I usually end up with a message telling me norton's control centre is not responding, it can't just be a coincidence.

Xantor: If you use the material room a lot for water, reflections and displacment mapping rather than bump mapping then you will end up rendering over night ;P With a serious render in Vue I usually end up waiting 50 hours or so (P4 2.2 Ghz, 1gig ram) I honestly think norton is having a detrimental effect though - I plan to kill it before I load poser from now on just incase.

You can also disable it directly in render properties in the firefly options if you don't have anything in the scene you want it applying to - is quicker than turning it off on all the props individually.

The most hit image in my gallery has...er...a piccy of animedoll's ass as the thumb :D (Just shy of 1000 hits :D) Can't blame people though - she does have a nice ass ^_^

Actually this is getting quite interesting now. When I do an image I usually have an idea and run with it - or more often than not I load something at random, play with it for a couple of hours and see what happens. I don't think at any time I've ever thought 'if I added a naked lady in here I would get lots of hits'. I think most people make an image the same way - if it ends up with a naked lady (or guy for that matter) then thats just how it goes, it's not necessarily a calculated attempt to get lots and lots of hits :)

'Hawke, maybe you are living in the wrong european country? ;-)' :( I live in the UK - no nekkid ladies here :( Maybe I could trade houses with someone in another country who doesn't like nekkid ladies ;D

'Don't think for a minute that Naked Ladies wouldn't be all over the TV screens in the US if the FCC would allow it, they are in Europe and Japan, even in the comercials' I live in Europe but I'm obviously watching the wrong adverts :P

(Reaches for dictionary) - and I quote: 'Art: Creation or works of beauty' I don't see anything in there along the lines of '...unless you created a work of beauty in poser'. Obviously beauty is subjective but if someone considers what you have created beautiful that makes it art - doesn't matter how you created it :)
Thread: Where might I find a poseable Lasso? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Can't say I've seen a lasso but if you buy an easypose tentacle (Traveller or Ajax) you should be able to rescale it and wrap the end round on itself to make a lassoo - just need to make a rope texture for it :)

Vue5 D'espirit is good value and just so easy to use, it renders v v v slowly on the best settings though (and I have full hardware acceleration running), but if you've got the patience it's great :) Bryce would me better if you are using Daz studio as Daz are improving the integration between the two all the time.
