Love the look of your website, too! ;)

Thank you, Phil, Elfdaughter and phantom!
@ PhilC: your videos were a tremendous help in doing this and understanding what to do. The Setup room was even more scarier to me than the Material Room, but not anymore!
@Elfdaughter: I don't have Phil's Clothing Creator (made the shirt in Hex), but I don't doubt it will be excellent! Good luck!
@phantom3D: Oh yes! I agree totally, and thanks again for your help in my other thread. I remembered what you told me when I had to restart over and over again with Stoopid shirt! :P

Thank you, hborre and JenX!
I meant to put in my original post that the name came after much frustration and disgust when I was saving it to the library. Needed a new name to differentiate from earlier incarnations (now gone) and named it that. So I decided just to keep it. :D

His show is still on PBS (Saturdays around here). Plus there is a website too, BobRoss.com. His son takes care of all that now, I believe.
Ennyhoo...I completely empathize with you here. Trying to learn things like this and hunting for tuts that will help more than confuse is, as I said, quite frustrating. Not knocking those with great tuts like the good Doc G, and PhilC, they've been a tremendous help!
I dunno....mebbe we're just moving along further in our development and needing to learn even more things. And most tuts seem to be geared toward those just starting out.

The only problem? Awful or no detail. Why? Because no existing tutorial teaches you how to even think about tackling detail issues. Oh, there are a couple I have seen, but they pretty much assume you know everhting already and gloss over the finer points.
I agree and is true of many tutorials (not just for making clothes, etc.) The one writing the tut seems to assume a lot of the reader that they are experts or something. Very frustrating.

This one guy I watched created an entire mesh with polyboost in about 50 seconds. It was like watching that old PBS show where the guy would do landscapes in forty minutes with only a spackle spreader and a tube of off-white.
You must be referring to the late Bob Ross. Always liked watching him make his 'happy trees'! LOL!

So far I've never had any problems downloading from Share3G. Got my freebies stored there too and find it 'friendlier' than other storage sites.

Quote - I think a small tutorial is in order to help newbie understand the complexity of the nobe interactions in the Material Room.
I agree! It would be MOST helpful!

Thank you for that. I understand what you mean now.
I got it to work...deleted what I had and started over. I used the V4Dev Suit for the rig (a bit quicker that way), but apparently when I was modeling the shirt, I got it just a bit too snug, and for some reason, when I conformed it to Vic, it dropped down into her body a bit. Had to raise it up some. sigh.... then scale..meh.
It bends fine, so far, though I need to adjust the joints for the shoulders. Need to re-run Phil's joint parameter vid and see if I can get it figured out. Need to get to bed though, starting to get sleepy.
I'll work some more with it tomorrow. Just think, I've got this far...now I've got morphs to look forward to...LOL!
Thank you so much for your help, phantom. I'm forever in your debt though I don't doubt I'll be back with more questions if I get stuck!

Ok....I did get the internal names matched exactly...I knew to do that, so took pains to make sure.
But from what you said, apparently, I didn't group it right. I didn't make the collar group big enough...only around the neck area. So, if I change the grouping so that the order is right (chest, rCollar, rShldr), then it should work, right?
Makes sense now that I think about it. I was just SO happy when I got it to move! Then dissolved into tears when it ripped...sniffle.
But, hey..couldn't do any of this yesterday..well....except for the modeling. And there's still a lot there I need to learn!
Thanks for taking the time to help! I truly, truly appreciate it more than you know!

Thanks for your reply! No morph work has been done on this.
Actually....I just modeled this in Hex this evening. I'm trying to learn how to make conforming clothing and finally....FINALLY....got this to work...well...at least up to this point.
So...that said..I'm not sure what you mean by 'parented to the collar? I started out with PhilC's video on rigging...but the resolution of the vid wasn't that good and when he was in the setup room, I was unable to read or see things as clearly as I would like (zooming was no help). Plus at some point the narration got ahead of the video, making things a bit more confusing, requiring me to run it over and over again. So...I'm a newbie to this, but determined to learn this.
I appreciate any help you can give me ,phantom3D. I've seen what you've been doing with Antonia and greatly admire the new hip rig you developed. Wish V4 had it. LOL!
Edit...just saw your other post. Yes, the other sleeve does the same. And I do have a collar group (around the neck area), and there isn't any missing groups. Really bummed about that, too, ...did grouping in Hex, and for some reason it didn't 'take' or something, as I had to redo it in Poser.
Oh wait...just realized...I should have made the collar group bigger? instead of just around the neck area?

Most hair is found in the Hair Library or Figures. Clicking the double check mark will load all parts of the model and it's texture. You will find fittings (if any) and mats in a corresponding folder in the Pose Library. However, if you have the Document Settings on, say, wireframe, the transmaps needed for the hair will cause it to come in almost transparent. Change this to texture shaded and you will be able to see the hair then.
