Does that mean it was an image size issue? I hope all is working reasonably well. If it is an image size issue, I can' imagine how someone would work around that without modifying the image files.Good call, Thalek.
Though SmithM were somewhat reticent about Poser internals, perhaps Bondware's gurus may be aware of potential processing pinch-point, and if still exists in #12 / #13...
Yeah, not too many companies want to share their internals, except for the ones they deliberately publish for creating plugins and such. Intellectual property aside, it's a little like giving burglars the blueprints to your house, at least in their eyes.

She's beautiful, and so is the hair.
Believe it or not, that is a V3 updo hairdo that I tweaked the trans map on to a much higher size and detail. Sometimes old content work well with a few tweaks.
This morph is a combination of 6 morphs, a base shape then 5 HD morphs on top of it to define the shape better. And that is just for the face.....
There is not a lot of topology in LaFemme's face, so you need some SubD love to do a lot with certain areas.
Someday I should do a tutorial on how I do these SubD morphs in Poser. But I don't know if other people even use SubD morphs in Poser.
Do any of you use the SubD morph features in Poser? And if you do, what would you like to see added to the toolset?
If there is enough interest we can start a thread specifically on SubD morphs. Possibly even a tutorial, possibly, lol...
No quads were harmed in the making of these morph.....
I confess that at the moment, I don't do SubD morphs, and I don't know how much I would use them if you did a tutorial; I haven't done a lot of morphs, period. But I will say that one of the reasons I don't do SubD morphs is that I don't know anything about them.
Do as you will, of course, but think of how many people might benefit from such a tutorial, people who don't know where to ask, or are intimidated by the process before they've tried. Whatever you decide, do it (or don't do it) because it makes you happy. Everything after that is gravy.Thread: Show your Poser 13 renders! | Forum: Poser 13
I mistook him for Samuel L. Jackson. Thanks for the attention. I couldn't resist letting Morgan Freeman take a look.

Thread: May newsletter freebie is the March newsletter freebie | Forum: Community Center
I'm having the same problem, which is scarcely surprising. They must have started to set up freebie, because the picture doesn't match the text, and then something happened, and the link and text never got updated.Your May 3rd newsletter (at least that's when I received it, subject line "Best Selling Products You May Have Missed... and MORE!") contain the monthly newsletter freebie but it's the March freebie again.
It even says "This freebie is available throughout the month of March."

Just wild speculation as I haven't played with that feature: some textures take longer to calculate. If you want to test that hypothesis, see if you can find some correlation with the ones that were nearly instant, the ones that took a few seconds, and the ones that took a minute or two. Since it's a simple V flip, complexity of the image probably isn't a factor. Size, OTOH might well be an issue, especially as it probably has to buffer its translation efforts in a duplicated copy. If size doesn't seem to be an issue, check to see if there are alpha channels in some and not in others.
That's the best I can offer. Hopefully someone who know what they're talking about will come along and help.Thread: Show your Poser 13 renders! | Forum: Poser 13

Thank you so much for that, first on my list for trying out on my next render.Since you are using the PhysicalSurface node, this is the Material Room setup for an Inverse Square emission with lights. Please don't use it with monitor displays or a tinted emission color chip, the intensity strength will wash it out. A Blackbody emission is your best option for tinting your lights according to real-world color temperature.
I need to check this out as well.

Thalek posted at 3:22 AM Thu, 11 May 2023 - #4464956Thanks! I'll take a look into that, as well.hornet3d posted at 2:54 PM Wed, 10 May 2023 - #4464922I am taking a shine to working with Poser 13 and no Poser lights.
I should probably experiment with that a bit. It would certain make my scenes look more natural, and would probably eliminate a lot of complications.
Take a look at polyhaven's Hdri's, they have a classification that gives a hint of the energy of the brightness of their images. I've stumbled upon some that almost too luminous depending on the situation

Thalek posted at 3:22 AM Thu, 11 May 2023 - #4464956I should give that a try, then. I did recently try a render indoors with the skydome because I thought I saw someone (Ghostship2?) successfully do such a render; I was not as successful.hornet3d posted at 2:54 PM Wed, 10 May 2023 - #4464922I tend to use HDRIs if the scene is outside or in outer space but once inside the environmental domes tend to be limited. For indoor scenes I tend to look for around the scene to see if there are some prop lights in the model which is often the case even with older content. I then use the physical surface and and emissive to the prop, it there no such props, or not enough I then use the light ring prop included in Afrodite-Ohki's LevelUpSuperfly product. You could always make similar but I already use the non rendering light in the same product for finding my way around such scenes and a lot of the other lights included.I am taking a shine to working with Poser 13 and no Poser lights.

I have the Level Up light set on my wishlist, but I'll have to wait until I'm door dashing again before I can buy it. I've got a nerve injury at the moment that makes driving almost any distance at all decidedly uncomfortable.
But I very much thank you for the benefits of your experience.

I love the skin texture! Quite striking.

Hatschi...sorry, I'm alergic to cats, no matter how small or big.
I'm only allergic to the big cats. I tend to break out in deep scratches and bite marks. :-)

Isn't he also the one who said that if women had trouble with the way he objectified and sexualized his characters, they shouldn't object to his behavior, they should just block him so he wouldn't offend their delicate sensibilities? I'm paraphrasing somewhat, but that was the context I heard.May I have to repeat the title? "Show your Poser 13 renders!"
Sorry vopehov506 but I agree with Rhia474 and I find this almost aggressive... That being said, you are absolutely free to start another thread and to let us present our "poor" Poser13 renders here.
