humm... Since there seem to be a few Mac people reading this thread, maybe someone can anwer a question for me... I've created some poser files on my Mac with nice little thumbnails that I'm happy with. They work really nice on my Mac, files & thumb. I converted them for use on a PC with Maconverter and although the files work perfectly well, the thumbnails show the ugly white guy. There are .rsr files that were generated and the person that tried the files put them in the right place, but the thumbs did not show up at all. Does anyone have any idea what else I could try to get the thumbs to work on a PC? I don't have access to one (well, yeah I do, but I do not have a version of Poser for PC so I can't verify my work...) and I need to bug people so they can test it for me, it's a little bit of a hassle... ;-) So, basically, I'd love to know how to do it right, so I don't need to bug anyone about this next time. ;-)) Thanks!!! :o) Caroline

Err... thanks for your help, but your suggestions will work only for PC and I don't have acces to one. (well, yeah I do, but I do not have Poser on it so I can't create thumbs with it, nor can I check if my .rsr files are ok or not...) I'll try to find another way - I do appreciate that you took some time to help me, it's very kind! :o) Cheers! Caroline

Just to let everyone know, I've completed the texture and it's now in the FreeStuff section. I really hope you like it and I thank everybody who gave me feedback on this, I appreciate it more that you can imagine. :o) I made archives both for Mac and PC, but I am not able to test the PC files so if you find anything wrong with it, let me know (and accept my apologies!). ;-) Link above is to a preview image I made using my texture set. Many thanks for the quick tutorial, Daio! :o) I was going to do it with BBEdit, I was just hoping there was some sort of utility that would make it easier ;-)) I guess I'll have to reinstall my compiler and make one, then, lol! And thanks to everyone who bothered to have a look at my texture and tell me what they thought of it. :o) It will be available in free stuff sometime during the coming week end. Cheers! Caroline

Thread: Smudge tool problem! | Forum: Photoshop
I wonder if this really has to do with the version of the system, though.... I'm on a Macintosh and the problem is present on 6.0 here. Possibly just a 6.0 issue. ;)

I had this problem too, it's not with the system or the tablet: it has to do with the transparency... If you check the box to preserve transparency, it won't happen. ...but that can get annoying if you want the edges of the image to look like that in which case turning on the preservation of transparency will make it impossible... So really, I can tell you why it happens, but not necessarily how to fix it, sorry!

Thread: RABBIT MODEL??? | Forum: Bryce
I tried that already, it's not bad, but not perfect.... I really have a problem with the ears, not only they look a little "off" on close-up, but it's sooo hard to make a texture for them, since the original texture for the cat (that the morph uses) has ears about 1/10 th of the size, so it is stretched real bad... And I was hoping to find a .obj or .obp file for Bryce, this time. ;-)

...another though comes to mind... a Mac forum could be a great place to find Mac users to beta test stuff. A lot of times before I buy something in the Market Place, I have to ask about "PC only" products, to make sure they're not in an .exe file or whatever, and most of the time I get told that it just hasn't been tested on a Mac because the creator has no Mac beta tester, or something of the sort and "can you explain this or that about Macs, please?". That's fine by me, I love answering questions, lol! But in any case, when someone is looking for a Mac user for whatever reason, a Mac forum would be a great place to find... lots of them!! :o)

I agree that creating a Mac forum might leave us a little on the side, as if we didn't want to mix (Lord knows that's not my case, lol!). BUT... it could be a very useful forum, a place where you could ask for help - technical or not - and get answers from people using the same computer platform as you are. Might be easier to get a good answer to a question, instead of your question getting lost in a forum where most are PC users and they haven't the slightest idea how to address the problem... (don't get me wrong, I don't want to start a PC/Mac debate here, I'm a Mac && a PC user!!!) In any case, that for sure is a Forum I'd be visiting often!!!
