Hmmm are you talking about in your neighborhood or in the World? I have over 2000+ users on my site, MalePoserotica, and most actually do Poser artwork, and use it, and buy content. The question is, are you talking about LEGAL users of Poser, and also not including those who have "found" Poser elsewhere? then the number will be lower, however, if you are looking for the realistic numbers you must take into account the people who use Poser and Content both legally and illegally at the same time. (No I don't condone illegal use of Poser or Content, however, it does exist). Alot of Poser users don't post their work on these sites either. I don't post the majority of my Poser artwork on sites, as I illustrate books, and those images are under my copyright, and I don't put them on the Net. I am sure others do more with Poser that you do not see. Many Forensic folks (and Attorneys) use Poser to recreate crime scenes, and that stuff is normally never shown online. Greetings, Antonio

The Catsuits aren't useless... You just have to know how to use them. How can anyone judge ApolloMaximus when they don't own him???? Remember, the renders of any figure are only as good as the poser users who make them. And I have noticed that many of them are just hobbyists and don't really pay much attention to the details of the figures, or are not skilled in anatomy enough to get the details right. Many just use the figure out of the box, throw them into a scene and maybe click on a mat/mor button to make the figure look like something. Using a Millenium Bodysuit/Catsuit takes a bit of know-how. I have been using the Catsuits for doing body hair on Millenium figures and haven't found them to be useless. I can only state again that I find David 3.0 is the best figure for the money, and the most flexible when it comes to face morphing, and most of M3's clothing needs only to be reduced about 95% in scale to fit David. Regarding morphs below the knee --- Try doing a scene with olympic swimmers doing diving, and not be able to stand him on a springboard, where his feet don't grip the board. Or a gymnast who has no moveable feet. if the fingers can move, curl or flex, then so should the feet. Feet are nothing more than hands on the ends of legs. A figure that should be anatomically correct shouldn't be missing anything.

Check out Netherworks fits for all the hair for males and females... they have Mac stuff. That should help you.

Someone forgot to mention Vittorio from PDXJims. David has the most flexibility in his face for doing morphing, Apollo has some plus points in that he has alot of morphing dials that the Millenium Figures are missing. The mapping on Apollo is still not 100% perfect but that was done intentionally done according to Anton Kisiel to allow the figure to be less memory intensive. Michael 3.0 has taffy-pulled shoulders which Curious Labs' James also inherited. David 3.0 lost the taffy pull shoulders but then lost all the morphing dials below the knee. When Luke came out, due to the restrictions of the US Marketplace, lost even more morphability (ie: you cannot make Luke look older than 16 if you are lucky)... He has serious problems when adding muscularity to him, his knees don't have the ability to match up to his calves and thighs. Hiro came out as an Anime character, and he is missing all the lower morphs like Luke. Michael and David are the most popular, however, David is the better figure. If you look at Jepe's morphs (Movie Men 1-5) you can see how flexible David is. Apollo Max is new, and has alot of features that are missing in the Millenium Figures, and that would probably give DAZ the needed kick to move forward and update the Millenium Figures. As the webmaster of MalePoserotica, a website geared towards all the Male figures for Poser, I have been pushing ApolloMax and trying hard to find people to make clothing for the male figures, but it seems that V3 is the only popular figure for clothing. So the reason ApolloMax, David , Hiro etc... have little to wear, is cause most makers of 3D clothing don't want to make stuff for Male Figures... as they are not as profitable. Sadly.

But why do people NOT want another male figure? I have been bitching about missing things in the Unimesh figures for over a year now and no one has listened or even cared. In fact, the last three figures released by DAZ in the Unimesh variation have gotten less and less morphs, and they are not organized to match each other somewhat... and everything below the knee is a catastrophe. Anton and his ApolloMaximus has handled ALL OF THAT in one figure and I can finally have a somewhat realistic character that can actually wiggle his toes and move his feet etc... With M3 you can turn and rotate his big toe, and the other 4 as a group. With D3, you can rotate and turn all toes as 1 group, and there are less morphs (toe point is gone). With Luke, well thats even worse. And Hiro is based alot like Luke. You'd figure that going forward things written in the DAZ forums would be taken into consideration, but ignored is more like it. Anton read all of those pleas and has tried to make ApolloMaximus do alot of what the Unimesh figures have failed to do. One other thing, I live in Germany, where nudity is a natural thing, not something to freak out about. Anton was forced to reduce the gens on ApolloMax down to -60% because of sales requirement from the USA. And did you know that ApolloMax is anatomically correct behind too? But because of restrictions from the USA he isn't allowed to be. We laugh about that over here, but Apollo is the most COMPLETE figure out there. I think those who complain they don't need a new male figure should go back to using Poser 3 and the V3 Male... - Antonio

I am looking for vendors who make or intend to make male clothing and props and want to sell them. PS: MalePoser.com is a site dedicated to Ronstuff to sell his products, and the majority of links on his link pages are either dead or no longer exist. The site is only updated when Ronstuff has something new to sell. There is a great set of Loincloths on RDNA, they have one standard one with a texture set and one Aztec Style one also with textures. Freebies, there is one from Tagame, a japanese poser person, its more japanese in style and fits M2. His site is rather adult in nature, but if you click thru to poser freebies you can find the items I mentioned. They are FREE.

As one of the people who really wants ApolloMax to be a hit, I think alot of people should go out and buy him and see if they like him better than M3 and D3, alot of what is in ApolloMax are things that are missing in the Unimesh Figures. If anything ApolloMax should be a kick-in-the-tail to the Unimesh makers to finally listen to some of us who have been asking for changes that are now standard in ApolloMax. ApolloMax will take time to get used to using, and if you really have patience it will definately pay off. There are still some mapping issues but I am sure that Anton Kisiel, the creator of ApolloMax will actually listen to the people using Apollo and will react accordingly. Ok, I have been scouring the web for issues with installing Poser 6.0 and have found the most common one is the installation of your prior RUNTIME into Poser 6.0. Adding Runtime Start Poser 6. Go to the Figures Runtime for Poser 6 on the right. Click on FIGURES. If your FIGURES is not showing you two folders called "Poser 6" and "Download" then you are somewhere else in this RUNTIME folder, go to the top of the list and click on the GO UP (arrow) folder... This will move you up a level or two... depending where you are. If you've done this then you will see the "Poser 6" (followed by a RED DOT) and the "Downloads" folders. Now you're at the top level. On the top, right, you will see a down-arrow which you can click on to select a pulldown-menu. At the bottom of this pulldown-menu you should see the entry "Add Runtime". If you see "Add Category" then you are not at the very TOP of the Figures Folder. Select "Add Runtime" and you will be presented with a dialog to select the exact directory where your POSER 5 (or POSER 4) Runtime is located. Make sure you select the entire path to the RUNTIME, not the usual path to just Poser 5 (or Poser 4)... C:Program FilesCurious LabsPoser 5Runtime Once you select this and click the "OK" button, it will take a short while (depending on how HUGE your runtime is) to import the links to this into the Poser 6 database. Once its done, you will see the newly added Poser 5 Runtime folder under the "Downloads" folder. Once all entries are added to Poser 6, you can highlight your Poser 5 Runtime and at the bottom of the screen is a checkmark to "Make Current" your selection. You will know if your selection of making this Poser 5 Runtime current worked when you see the RED DOT move from Poser 6 to Poser 5. This now will show you the content of your Poser 5 Runtime now in all Categories. I hope this will help you out alot in getting your old content back up and useable in your new installation of Poser 6. I loaded up an older .PZ3 file from Poser 5 into Poser 6 and what used to not work in Poser 5's renderer worked on first try with Poser 6... I was VERY HAPPY I didn't have to reinstall my ENTIRE Runtime back into Poser 6.

I know this issue first-hand since I run a male-themed Poser site and its hard enough to get people to come and post their male artwork... When I came to the Poser artworld, I noted that there was a serious lack in male figures in art, unless they were surrounded by big busty women as the main figure or figures. When one considers that women outnumber men, and not all women are turned on by looking at other women, why is it that more women don't do male figures? I recently met a large number of women who have homoerotic fantasies, and actually do artwork in that direction, some of it quite clever. However, no one posts it here, mainly because of the TOS but anything even clothed with men in it seems to glorify women to the point that the hormone driven male viewers get their psychological rocks off. I invite the women who are creative enough to make male art, be it dressed, half-dressed or undressed, erotic or not to post their best work at my site and thus create a world where people don't make such stupid comments about male art. They simply don't login to my site! Hooray. However, I am not allowed to state the name of my site here, since it also causes trouble with the TOS. So, I'll let you all figure the name out, here are some hints: The site is a .COM It deals with the MALE form and with POSER and with EROTICA. In that order. The site wasn't really intended to be totally in the direction of male porn or homoerotic works, however a combination of the male poser figures and erotica. Unfortunately MalePoser.com was taken and I couldn't think of anything else that would have worked or would have been available that people could remember or find. I am currently opening up a major website for ALL poser figures, but will seriously push the male figures as well. The site will be fully ready by the start of April, and will be hopefully very successful... Not sure, but I am also going to be selling male photo-reference sets of European male models to help people make some more photo textures. I think you should look at my site MalePoserotica before you re-invent the wheel. Otherwise I am wasting my precious time doing this.
