Thread: The Tailor 1.5 and upgrade are now up at DAZ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, I'm confused now. For those who had purchased Tailor 1.1 in the last 4 months, an email was sent out with a link to free download. I downloaded and installed this, but when I launch the program it says Tailor 1.5 Release Candidate (just like the 'mistake' upgrade mentioned earlier). Is it supposed to say this? And yes I was one of those who had downloaded the mistake release earlier, and had installed it. I have since uninstalled it, reinstalled 1.1, redownloaded from the new email link and it still says Release Candidate. Just wondering.

Debby, that email says that it was sent to those who purchased Tailor 1.1 within the last 4 months. If you purchased before that it looks like you have to pay a $10 fee.

Use the obj2max plugin for 3ds Max 4, not the one for 3.1. Both are available from the Habware website, you just need to go to the Max 4 section. http://www.habware.at/duck4.htm (as opposed to duck3.htm). The version 4 plugin works perfectly fine in Max 5.

I had the same problem yesterday. The email link went to a completely blank page. But all you have to do is click the account icon at the top of the Daz webpage and that brings you to your account profile page. All of my available downloads from the recent purchase were right there, and those links worked fine.

Shouldn't that be "Vacation in Koshstantinople"? Sorry, couldn't resist. But now I have a very annoying They Might Be Giants song going through my head.

Is it just my imagination, or does that face look a bit like an anime version of Doctor Fraiser from Stargate SG1? (Thinking I need to get my eyes checked).

Thread: Tailor V2 -> V3 clothing prob/question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ugh. Not to turn this into a one person thread, but I was wrong again :) After further tests with other items, it turned out it was not the align button in the joint parameters dialog that resolved the problem. It was using a different joint setting pose. Originally, I was using Fyrespirit's joint setting pose for V3 clothes from freestuff. That works for some items, like the catsuit, but didn't work for others, like the spywear and scifi suits. I then tested a different joint setting pose, Netherworks V3 Clothing Conformer... and that is what did the trick. As Momcat said earlier, that had to be applied to the clothing and saved in the library from Poser before being imported into Tailor. But it made all the difference. Not sure why I didn't make that connection when it finally worked last night.

FYI for anyone interested, I got the forearms to work by adding one extra step in Poser 5 itself. Previously before conforming the suit to Vicky 3 I had gone into the Poser 5 Joint Parameters and zeroed Vicky's pose. What I hadn't done was click the align button. When I did this it reset the X alignment, and now the sleeves remain in place for the most part. There still remains a slight flair around the cuffs in certain poses, but other poses like the original one in this thread work.

Fauve, so far I have encountered two sets of items that have to be removed. There may be more depending on what items are used. Tailor will fortunately give you the line number of the item(s) causing errors, though, which helps a lot. The first item I had problems with is under the Channels section of the .cr2. I found that if the .cr2 contains a section labeled 'groups' underneath channels (and most likey before zOffsetA), that groups section on down to the following closing bracket } needs to be removed. This has only appeared in two of the .cr2s I saved from Poser 5, however, so I am not certain what causes it to be put in there to begin with. The other section that I had to remove appears in every .cr2 saved from Poser 5. You will want to scan for a line with the word "backfaceCull" and delete it and the 5 lines that follow, down to and including smoothPolys. You will have to do this for every actor in the .cr2, which is rather cumbersome (it will take a very long time to do this by hand if you are working with something that contains all of the V3 morphs, for example). Would probably be useful for someone to write a python script or some other utility to do this automatically.

Okay, I lied, I haven't stopped yet. Momcat's suggestion did work with the V2 Catsuit. Doesn't work with either of the Spywear or the SciFiSuit1MW suits, however. Well, at least it gives me something to compare against I guess.

One other observation, the forearm offset seems to be something that happens immediately upon applying the joint setting pose itself. It poses in the correct position before that (though doesn't conform correctly until after the joint setting pose is applied).
