Thread: Can not Import. | Forum: Blender
Thanks, good to know.
oldskool.... Let me know how that worked for you? I am curious if that worked or not.

Thank you, it worked like a charm. This thing was giving me to many options.:

I was always clicking on create scene. Again thank you. :thumbupboth:
PS. It seems like whenever I crop something out of a screen shot, I get better resolution and words are more readable.
Thread: I have a question about DEM files. | Forum: Vue
Thanks nruddock, this helps a lot. One of the examples is similar to how we would find horizontal distance and vertical distance in the military, except more accurate. It is an excellent site.
I know what you mean by. "The height difference between the lowest and highest point has to map to the 256 shades that you can get with an 8 bit greyscale image." But how do you translate shades into feet, or decimals for that matter? Here is the area on a topographical map, that I am trying to make a 3-D representation of:
The closest I could get was 1:1000 scale. The next contourline up in elevation would be 1800 feet.Â

nruddock, What would be my first step in conducting my own survey?
martian, can you link me to an example of how to make a height map? I liked the idea of using a topographical map, it's something I'm familiar with. For a paint program, I would be using Paint Shop Pro 7.            Â

I have been thinking about changing from Bryce 5 too Vue 5, basically for the Poser applications. Can you point me in the right direction to get some information on Mover 5?

Sorry, false alarm. I had a bad file. It's funny that I had two in a row do that. I tried another file, and no problems. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thread: Divx continued | Forum: Bryce
I checked my other computer (the one with Poser on it), and the settings were the same. I'm really beginning to believe I'm having memory problems. That would explain the long render times. If I'm not mistaking, 1000 kilobytes make a MB. If this is the case then, I'm only using a little over 10 percent of my RAM. The default setting in Divx on my other computer seems to work fine. Considering that my computer is showing 148,000 kilobytes of RAM, I would think that is my problem. It's funny that I did not catch this earlier. When I seen the error message, I thought I should check. Hopefully new hardware will find the RAM and recalculate.

AgentSmith, I'm going to start a new post. I am on dail up, and this page is starting to take a longtime to load. I will entitle it,
"Divx continued". I have some new developments that I would like to discuss.

"Should be out this fall " that is good news. I hope it does have better render speed. As it is now, render speed takes entirely too long. Thank you for your participation.
