[[ I think the P5 postings will slow down in a couple months ...]] So the people still using Poser4 should just 'go away' for a couple of months and hope there "might" be some sort of place for them when they wander back??? Thanks ever so much.

Well, if you are going to insist that it be "100% Bryce" with no imported objects or anything like that, then to be Honest, it should be named the "Bryce Purists' Quarterly Challenge." You do understand that if you do insist on "100% Bryce" you are naturally excluding a lot of people who haven't already developed advanced modeling skills with metaballs/booleans. And if it's going to be "100% Bryce", WHY should textures made in any other program be allowed? Requiring everything to be done with only procedural textures is not the tiniest bit more restrictive/excluding of people than requiring any and all objects to be exclusively created in Bryce. ($.02)

It appears I did use your diver some time back, and when I posted the picture ("Ancient Enemy"), mistakenly attributed it to Mitch, from whom I had also downloaded quite a bit of undersea stuff around that time. I was working in my Poser folders last nite - reorganizing - and realized that the Diver is in a folder clearly labeled AA-Divers. My profuse apologies for this mistake (smacks self on forehead and repeats mantra "Duh!" several dozen times). Your divers and equipment are great. Abundant thanks for making them available, even to idiots like me.

If you want lots of hits and very little response in the way of comments, post here. If you don't mind fewer total hits but like to get some encouraging comments, also post at 3DC. Quite a few people, myself included, post at both sites. (Of course, if you are just doing T&A, you'll get lots of hits AND comments here.)

Well, you do have a point there. We'll just have to wait and see if any room is left for P4 users once the hubbub dies down.

What interaction??? Anything not related to Poser 5 is next to impossible to find now. 99% of all the posts these days are related to P5. Not that that's necessarily a bad thing - more power to 'em, but there's simply NO WAY to find anything relating to Poser 4 in the huge rush of P5 stuff. Kept the way it is simply means P4 people are OUT! IMO

www.poserworld.com It's a "subscription" site - you have to pay an annual fee to join, but it's probably the best investment you can make if you're into Poser. As a subscriber you have access to everything they've put out (several CD's worth) and all the new things they release frequently. Definitely First Rate stuff!

OK OK get technical... so he's OVERSEEING the cooking up of more evil every second, and as usual the various worker drones of his nefarious hive are doing the real work while he sits back and stacks the souls in his 'pettycash' drawer (grinning and chortling fiendishly the whole while, no doubt). Just like in EVERY overstuffed corporate monster these days, only bigger and more insidiously evil as is fitting for the King of Damnation. (Sheeesh, picky picky picky! Damn, I gotta get my saucer fixed and get off this backwater rock soon.) ;o)

Hi LD, I downloaded your haystack too - intending to use it with a little tweaking to make thatch roofs for round huts. That project is sitting on the back burner right now. *** It's long been true around here that T&A is what gets the hits. Of course, with the advent of the Mildragon, we're starting to see fewer people complaining about the over-abundance of NVITWAS (Naked vicky in temple with a sword) as they have a new item to complain about - too many NDIACWFAOH (naked dragon in a cave with fire and/or hoard) pics. Tune in next week to see the latest item for people to bitch about. ;o) *** I know what you mean when talking about hits & comments, if I post a picture here I'm lucky to get even one comment most of the time, even if the hits go over 100. Over at 3DC it's usually about a ratio of 1 comment per 2 or 3 hits - far more encouraging.
Thread: How many computers you've had since P4? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Just one OLD non-evolved P-II 400Mhz w/ 8Gb HD which I've been using ever since I first got Bryce 3 and Poser 2. The only upgrades I've been able to afford for it was bumping the memory up to 256Mb and adding a 40Gb external HD. Hoping that MAYBE by the end of next year I can afford to get rid of it and move to a 'new-er' obsolete machine. DREAMING that maybe someday I can afford to have a machine that's not already several 'generations' (of PC's) into obsolescence at the time I buy it. I have certainly learned the truth in the computerland axiom "If you can afford it, it's obsolete."

I'll chime in too. Those wonderful people who make all the freestuff have literally made what I do possible for me. If I had had to learn to model everything I use from scratch before building any scenes, I'd probably have only done one or two at most by now (and would certainly have been totally shorn of whatever few shreds of sanity I currently have left). Profound thanks to all of them.

Of course Bill Gates knows about the $130 blueplate specials. He knows about all the evil things being done, and is cooking up more in his headquarters at M$/Hell every second. ;o)

I've heard a lot here about the bugs and testing and all the chaos. I just have ONE question. Why are all the bugs that were in P4 - and about which people complained mightily well before P5 came along - STILL in P5? (according to what I hear in these fora - since it'll be some time, if ever, before I can justify buying P5). People were complaining about things like the non-functional/randomly-functional "undo" in P4 for a long time - and it appears absolutely nothing was done to change it - the same for a number of other items people have been complaining about for so long. Why are all those bugs still in there?

For those still using Bryce 4 (like me) the Bryce Librarian from www.wolfiesden.com is an absolute must. It allows you to have multiple preset libraries and swap them in & out of the limited B4 preset slots on the fly.
