IIRC means "if I recall correctly." At least, I believe it does... if I recall correctly ;)
Thread: Help with material render please! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The material preview takes its lighting from your scene. Change your orangey-pink light to a bright green and you'll see the difference in your preview too.

You could probably get a store to order them in for you if they don't carry them. I know I've seen Cinema 4D in FutureShop, which is the Canadian retail partner of Circuit City. I had to order Poser directly from Curious Labs because I have NEVER seen it in retail stores here. If you're a student, your campus bookstore or computer store should be able to order them for you at a reduced price -- I know I could order Painter8 for less than half it's retail price, and the same with StudioMX.

It all depends on what you'd like to do. For 3D modelling, your best bet would be to try out the free programs like Anim8or, Wings3D and Blender (though Blender has a pretty steep learning curve compared to the other two). The bulk of the CG art on Renderosity uses Poser, which you can buy from CuriousLabs.com -- I think they have a demo to try, as well.

Shouldn't matter that you're outside the USA -- your bank should still be able to convert a USD cheque to pounds. I'm in Canada, so I'm closer to the US than you, but still outside their banking area and I've never had problems with USD cheques, from Renderosity or anywhere else.
Paypal is the credit card thing you're probably thinking of. You sign up for an account with your credit card and your purchase $ are placed in that account. You can then withdraw the money. I've heard quite a few horror stories about Paypal "losing" $ or freezing accounts without explanation, though. Plus, you might want to go over their terms pretty closely. I'm Canadian and last time I checked, for non-US accounts, there was a monthly fee, a high per-transaction fee AND a % fee to withdraw your $.

Click on the MY HOMEPAGE item in the Member Options pulldown menu. At the top of your homepage, there should be an administration heading with a bunch of links -- one of these should be "Upload Store Item."

Thread: Cloth Room Question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Check out the tutorial section under Poser5 Secrets -- there's a really good one with all the basics about the cloth room.

I'll again add my voice to this. This is the third time I've visited Renderosity today and every time I have a lag while those menu images load. I have cable and I've tried in IE and Netscape. I'd try Opera, too, but Renderosity doesn't work well with Opera (for me, at least).
