As I said in my first posting on this thread, I already have the Daz head morph packs for M3 and V3. I also have the character morph packs for the same figures, though I haven't used those yet. Perhaps there's a solution there. The main thing that seems to be missing are the morphs that change the SPATIAL RELATIONSHIPS between the different parts of the face at one time; for example, the Face Room morphs allow you to change the distance between the nose and the mouth, the mouth and the chin, the eyes and the mouth, etc. The Daz morph packs have only crude, single-feature manipulation tools, if at all, for changing these relationships. These relationships are critical to a likeness of a real person; that's why we can tell who a person is long before we are close enough to see the details of their faces -- we are recognizing the shape of the face and the spatial relationships between the features, not the features themselves. The Face Room has those morphs. I'll test the Daz character morph packs, and keep looking. The V2 and M2 solutions sound interesting, but hard. SS
Thread: Wanted: True "Face Room"- type morphs for M3, V3, Freak, etc. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks Deecey. FaceGen, as well as Blacksmith's morphing products (I think), are for Windows only, and I'm all Mac, all the time. I'd spend the money if they had a Mac version, but they don't. I'm wondering: the Face Room can generate exportable morph targets, so perhaps that morph target could work with a Daz figure, and then still be usable with Mimic? And what, in your opinion, is the best set of head morphs for M3 and V3 other than the Daz head morph packs? SS
Thread: Where are all those extensive morph dials for The Freak? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks Fazzel. Perhaps I phrased my question too crudely, but I DO have the Freak morph package from Daz, but it doesn't show up unless I've selected the head I created in the Face Room. THAT's the wierd part. When I load the normal Freak figure without applying the Face Room head, the Daz morph package parameters aren't there. I need some ideas on how to get those morph parameter dials. I might be missing something basic on loading the Daz morphs. SS
Thread: Challenge Loading/Organizing Unzipped Poser Content | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks, nomuse. I have been moving the files one by one. I've also discovered I have more than 70 new runtimes -- that's in addition to what I already had in Poser 5 and 6. It's a pain, but it has the advantage of allowing me to personalize my file tree a bit more than I might have otherwise. Nevertheless, that shareware app sounds really great, and I'll give it a try. I'm using a G5 dual, so I can still run Classic apps. Macs are truly superior graphics machines (all four of my art-and-music-loving kids have dumped their PCs for Macs), but e-Frontier has been a wee small step behind on matching its Mac version of Poser to its PC version. That said, they've told me that they're working on a universal (Intel-processor optimized) version of Poser for Mac that will really smoke when it comes out, presumably in Version 7. Now if they could just add passive, multiple levels of "undo" I'd be fine. Incidentally, in my solution search I ran across a cross-platform app for tailoring conforming clothes to morphed or different characters that works wonderfully for Mac versions of Poser: Wardrobe Wizard by PhilC. I just discovered a FAQ on e-Frontier's site that basically says that Mac users are out of luck when it comes to having a simple means of loading unzipped, unorganized files into a new Runtime. "Tedious" was the word the author used to describe the process -- moving each file, one by one, into the appropriate subfolders -- and I can certainly vouch for that. SS
Thread: placing downloads into mac | Forum: Poser Technical
The method you describe for getting the files in the right place sounds awfully tedious when you're dealing with a large number of characters, morphs, etc. at once. Is there a more automated way rather than peering into each folder and seeing what's there, and then hand-dragging file-by-file, hoping you don't screw up? And then there is the additional problem of organizing the content in the Library, but my hope for some sort of automated or batch mode, even character by character, is most important. SS

Thanks again, Realmling. Also, I bought Wardrobe Wizard and it works really well; i.e., it works as close to perfectly as anything else in Poser. Kudos to PhilC, its author. I easily managed to get a string bikini well fitted onto The Freak (not that I do that sort of thing regularly, but it was an interesting image) to test its limits. It has very nice "auto-adjust" functions. He also fit nicely into a James pair of pants, polo shirt and shoes. I will also try converting conforming to dynamic clothing per your instructions, since even in this cartoon I'm working on I need some of the fit and flow associated with dynamic clothes. SS

Thanks Acadia and dbowers. I have been tinkering around with the dynamic clothing and had the sense that it held some promise, but hadn't gone too far with it because most of the clothing I have is conforming. Acadia, I just checked out Wardrobe Wizard and since it is both Mac and PC I will purchase it shortly -- it also supports the characters I'm using. Whew!!!! I have a 6-week deadline, so spending a little money for the chance to save time and improve the fit is well worth it. I'll let you know of the results. SS

Thanks, Realmling, for the quick response. I'm all-Mac, all the time, so The Tailor and at least one other option won't work for me. I use Poser in conjunction with Toon Boom Studio, Photoshop and Final Cut Pro to create layered, animated shorts, so the clothing has to move accurately with the figure in the animations taken directly from Poser. I had not used heavily morphed Poser figures until this project (I'm working on a superhero cartoon). I'll try to use the magnets, but I'm open to any further thoughts that you or others might have. Cheers! SS
