I was referring to altavista's use of babelfish. If you use firefox there is an extension that uses it inside the browser... very handy. Here. http://babelfish.altavista.com/

According to babelfish...which I am sure is a bit crude, this is what is says. Perfection beyond the perfection. Nor a photo would make the representation of a look to be so deep, and this image obtained to make it of a wonderful form. The eyes of this magic creature are the spectacle offered for this scene. Very pretty.

Can this be used with vue 5 espirit? Doesn't seem so.

You have to go back and forth between the scene tree and then content. Check out these tutorials there is a quick start and some others that are really helpful if your new. You can load morphs if they came with your content. Start simple first. ;) http://www.daz3d.com/support/tutorial/index.php?cat=4

I was interested in whether you can upgrade to infinite say from vue3 if you had it. It only shows very recent version upgrades. Which means if you didn't buy every new version you would be out of the loop. Is the Infinite demo the same as the espirit demo? Sounded the same. I am wondering if you can check out the other features like the ecosystem.

Thread: Been thinking about Carrara 4 for animation... | Forum: Carrara
Jack whitney has some good examples and others off the links on eovia.com. http://www.eovia.com/resources/carrara_tutorials/carrara_tutorials.asp rustboy.com also used carrara (don't know how much) and the much older infini-d. This was done with c3. http://www.harmonic-uk.co.uk/ Because you said animation c4p would def be better than c4., as I said. You have to be careful looking at work tho because you may not know what other tools or plugins were involved or whether the interface will work for you. The plugin that comes with c4p(transposer is version one which doesn't do poser 5. Transposer2 is now $99 I think they killed the upgrade price of $39. It was not fully working with poser 6 either)This is not clear on the site.

Thanks. I have been looking online and found those mentioned.Having a "good" book though saves all that printing and what really helps are people who know how to distill it down to important concepts. Somethings I run into I can't be sure if it's me or a bug etc... Just really getting a handle on the interface is what I am after now. The wiki was the most recent and it does seem better. I have not been getting expected render results for example with yafray even w/ plugin so wondering if it was me. Very exciting to see what is being worked on.

Hate to say, but most software is not including a paper manual for awhile now. Just a disk in a box. It helps if you just print sections. Not the same, but better than printing the whole thing.

For that I think carrara is a better choice. Good render, more file support and modeling. While VUE has it's strengths, modeling isn't it, you have to get vue5 infinite to get better file support. Really don't like their almost non-existent export. I do like the basic animation (vue) feature they have. It is very easy and quick. That should be something a program uses as a base then you can adjust it individually. You probably want c4p tho. Certain effects can cause problems if you use an alpha channel, but it is better in version 4 than 3. C4 also has good terrain and sky...plants are weak, but there are programs and plugins to help with that. They also have a terrain painter that works well with a tablet. Which you don't hear much about, but I like...would like to see more tablet usage in all these 3d programs. Particularly modeling related.

Well, adobe pricing is crazy, but upgrades are much better, however, they do give you credit for previous versions. It seems like eon like some others doesn't give you credit for earlier versions too well. Even infinite at that price seems lacking in a few areas, so upgrades are definitely important.

Thread: Bryce,Vue or Carrara | Forum: Vue
Tho carrara 4 especially has good terrain and sky. If you try some complexity with trees you will be rendering forever. I feel that other outdoor objects would be more of a challenge in c4. With plugins you can do more, but it is more all around or complete than bryce or vue unless you go vue 5 I, which is a whole other ball park even still for modeling you would probably need something else. Bryce and Vue limit file support. All the commercial companies tend to do this which can be very annoying.

How are e-on with upgrades? Do they pretty much make you upgrade every version or do they forget about you? The nicer thing about the cheaper versions is that demos only help so much to see what a program is like or will do. You really need to feel comfortable with a program to spend $500 or more on it.

Thread: Carrara or Bryce? | Forum: Carrara
Everyone pretty much said it. I don't think people are really badmouthing Bryce. For overall modeling if those are your 2 choices then Carrara is better. However, Bryce def does lotsa landscape things better. If you go C4 I feel C4Pro is much better over standard. However, C3 is pretty bad with landscapes.

Thread: WIP, My CG talk spectacular image so far. | Forum: Carrara
I think it has a great start. Compositionally, the details you were discussing will make a great difference tho as to where your eye goes. Based on your description, for me I am not really believing the floating object is technologically advanced, it actually looks rustic and machine-like. That could be a whole other way to go, but it just didn't seem to coincide w/ your description. I realize it is a WIP so it may change greatly. Good work.
