Yes, I'll admit it; I've seen the infamous Doug Winger's material at VCL. That has to be Pandora sans a certain element of anatomical detail usually found on the hyper-endowed hermaphroditic version (Yeah, you read that correctly.). CAUTION! View Doug Winger's material at your own risk. If you're easily shocked, embarrassed or offended, DON'T!!! (What was I doing looking at it myself? Sometimes those thumbnails can fool you. You think, "Surely that can't be what it seems to be." With Winger, it usually is. I will say this. He handles PhotoShop shading tools like a grand master.) Winger indeed does draw the head at that scale and Nekofur has performed a remarkable job accurately recreating Doug's character. Whther she's your cup of hemlock is another matter, but Neko' did capture the essence.

The T-shirt is part of the torso geometry. It can't be removed. Furrette is based upon a low polygon figure made for a video game. Obviously in the first person shooter, she would not haved stripped so there was no need to make the shirt as a separate object. Little Dragon raised the face count and tweaked the mesh for public distribution. LD stated that if he ever does a second version, it would possess a true torso as well as other enhancements. See entry # 44 for details.

Ah, I intend her fingers to be quasi-toon style, three paw-like fingers and a thumb per hand. Logically, each foot-paw has four toes. Base 16, hexadecimal, would come naturally to her. ;-) The supplied image is not meant to be the final model sheet. It is actually a fusion of two drawings I made for Paul Gibbs' narrative site. I'd like Ms. Phytt to have larger, arch shaped, toon eyes similar to those of Mzzkiti. I'm debating whether to give her a button-type nose or go with the more anatomically correct inverted triangle. You can see the difference between the front and profile. I see her balanced somewhere between Lemurtek's "realistic" physiques and your Eric Schwartz inspired designs. BTW, I appreciate the compliments about my model sheet. But I see myself as a "fair to middlin'" illustrator. There exist people who draw with less skill, but there are as many, if not more artists whose talents far exceed mine. Hmm, so far, I've read three responses suggesting I try box modeling combined with smooth sub-division. Dodger gave a fairly detailed recommendation for patch modeling (based upon tools found within 3D Studio Max), but I'm afraid he lost me within the first paragraph. Please, Dodger, my comment was not meant to disparage you. If anything, my comment merely illustrates my own ignorance of those tools. Plus, I don't have the tools to feed coordinate data from the surface of a physical sculpture. I guess the next question is, where can I find some good box modeling tutorials? Actually, I've stumbled across some, but any suggestions would be appreciated. I found one that is incredibly detailed, and though it's demonstrated with 3D Studio, many of the techniques can be applied to TS. Its only drawback? It's in French! Here's the sick irony. I studied French in high school for two years, but now I can't remember a lick of it! Of course, that was some 22 years ago. Well, I guess I'd better study the "do's and don'ts" of box modeling and smooth Sub-D. Yes, I already know that quads are preferred and any differently numbered polygons can cause problems. Oy, a geometric nightmare!Tempt the Hand of Fate and it'll give you the "finger"!

See, L D, I told you people would like them! I foresee A whole new series of renders. You know, they'd be a real hoot within the "Render Wars" forum. Hmm, I wonder if I should join the "act" by releasing own furry fem'? I'd base her loosely upon Lt. Mzzkiti, the title character from my online strip. I might follow up this thought within the "Modeling" and "Character Creators" forums. I have some questions about the strengths and weaknesses of various modeling tools, not the programs, just the tools within the programs.Tempt the Hand of Fate and it'll give you the "finger"!

Thanks for the offer. I'm sure 'Rosity members would appreciate them. However, Poser can only use wave (.WAV) files. One would need conversion programs if you don't offer a wave alternative. Some users wouldn't want to take that extra step and thus would not buy them (if you intend to sell them). However, some of us don't mind. GoldWave is a shareware suite can can load MP3s and save them as waves. I know programs exist that can convert Midis, but I can't recall any specific utilities. Sincerely, Bill

Please forgive me, Dave-So, I don't mean to make light of the troubles you're suffering, but, "Bull raping??!!!" Man, you're braver than I thought! If you meant to put that slant on Lalverson's suggestion, at least you've kept your sense of humor, which is good. If it was a typo, well, you've just made my morning! I have this twisted, absurd image of a steer walking funny and having an odd grimace.

It's a good thing I saw this clip at home and not at the office. I've been laughing like Mark Hamell's Joker for a solid 5 minutes! Had I been at work, I think they would have hauled me off to SouthWestern (the local state mental institution). You really know your craft, L-D! Thanks for the early morning "pick-me-up!"

Say, Scott? Is that a new 'Zilla? He looks like he has stretching cheeks, reducing the crocadilian appearance. If he is a new version, is he available for download? I must admit to being something of a closet kaiju otaku. I love the irony of your creations, 3D versions of rubber costumes. ;-) Sincerely, Bill

Alchera, what settings did you use? I what to see what I can achieve using Lemurtek's "Guenevere" cat-girl. Screen captures would be very helpful. I'm sure Little Dragon would also like to know. Thanks in advance for any advice. Sincerely, Bill

Thread: Mimic and P5, does it work? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Oh, um, er, then again... DAZ may start by providing patches for their existing characters. That would eliminate the need for option # 4. I was composing my message when you posted yours, Little Dragon. I, too, thank you for the link. I just bought the Michael and Victoria CDs earlier this week, so this update is especially relevant. Actually, I got the best deal doing it this way. The 20 dollar voucher allowed me to acquire the Mil' Dragon effectively for free! What a bargin! I didn't know Mike and Vicky came with additional bodies that can wear the "classic" Poser 4 clothes. This allows so many possibilities! Sincerely, Bill

Thread: Mimic and P5, does it work? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm guessing you might be aware that LIPSinc was liquidated (or whatever the proper term) only a month ago. DAZ3D bought Mimic "lock, stock and barrel." As I understand the terms, DAZ has the legal right to reverse engineer the code. Considering the drastic price drop for Mimic, my suspicions tell me DAZ is probably developing a more enhanced version. The following is just theory, or maybe just wishful thinking. I have no facts upon which to base these ideas, so please don't take these pondering as any official statement of purpose. 1) They might make this newer version available for both Windows and Mac. Most of their items are offered for both platforms. 2) Rather than just simple check boxes for including various supplimentary motions such as brow archings and eye blinks, why not variable rates controlled by dials, sliders or numeric input fields? 3) Controls for general emotional states would be fascinating. Better yet, why not tools to change the emotions during the speech? 4) Options to select whether the charcter to be used is a Poser 4 character or a DAZ creation would eliminate the problems of compatibility. Such additions may make the application nearly as complicated as just manually adding keyframe adjustments, but I feel DAZ would not have bought Mimic if they didn't have any thoughts for improving it. Jinkies! That looks like a scene out of "Cocoon!" While attending Dragon*Con, I surmised from the seminars that one could "clothify" any object. It's one thing to hear it, but it's another thing entirely to see such an extreme example. Sincerely, Bill

Hmm, Troughton as a dragon, it works, especially the irony of his comment! Weird that he passed away while attending a convention right here in my home state of Georgia. With all the various wyrms being dusted off due to the success of DAZ's newest creation, I kinda' surprised you haven't modified any of these to serve as your online avatar. An encounter between you and florence Ambrose or White Pony would be a hoot! For those of you who are clueless as to what I am referencing, check out Mark Stanley's witty strip, FreeFall at: http://www.purrsia.com/freefall/ ...and read its related forum at: http://nice.purrsia.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=21 Little Dragon has built quite the popular reputation with his portraits and animations!
