Thread: D/S vs Poser | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
D|S can hold, render bigger scenes, than poser. The bad thing about D|S, is two thing. Doesn't have a walk cycle for characters and its own material room, although you can apply textures, and adjust em (reflect, transparent). I do have Poser 6, and D|S. I find after many years using Poser 4, 5, then 6, then moving into D|S to understand it, that D|S is more relaxing for a huge scene, lighting (3Dlights: Lights and Mood Master) is awesome. Poser 5, 6, 7, and now PPro has a straight forward material room (when you get to know it), and of course a walk cycle. Poser is hard on the system when rendering, depending what it is (poly counts).
Will be great to take advice from Gareee if you do get poser. Will save you a bundle of dollars. Doesn't hurt to have poser and also use D|S. Can have fun with both.

Umm...what is the status of this project? I noticed their is other projects that been shown (2-3 years), and still waiting. I dislike being pushy, but being teased, then forgotten, then shown other stuff in store, but nothing.
Thread: Poser 7 vs DAZ Studio | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Dunno if you have Dreamlights products to use with D|S, that will do way better than poser with it comes to image making only, and for realism. In poser you get the walk Cycle (other animation making goodies), and the material room in Poser 5, 6, 7 that does way better than D|S. Poser though is a memory (resource) hog, which could bog down your computer, when trying to make a scene. D|S can handle a nice scene a computer functions just fine, even huge ones (City, plus landscape and more). Poser can handle 9 camera settings or you have to save in library if you want more. D|S can have more than 9 cameras in a scene. D|S costs nothing, and well P7 you can pay for it. So, I can see the pros and cons between the two, which is difficult to divide the two, but your choice when it comes to a project. I have P5, P6, but not P7, which is no different although has some extra features. If D|S has a good material room just like Poser 5,6, 7 does, and a good walk cycle, then D|S would be my choice all the way, and it at no cost. The thing is I first started all this 3D stuff (8 years ago), I wanted to animate, entertain. I haven't even started yet. So, their goes the flaws between the two. Need another computer to do the job aside while doing other things.

I could have never figured this out on my own after playing around with the shaders. I am wondering how to change the puddle sizes. I would like em larger. I am having problems doing this.

Well, getting somewhere slowly. I will continue this tmrw night. If you notice on image example (Post #1), that some part are more reflective, and other areas are not.

A cloud nod is a great idea, although I am working on it now (many attempts already), still struggling. I do have a texture map already in use, along trying to use the B/W cloud with it. Noise is also needed to help make the ground (road), and I have that already in the bump. So, I guess you can see where I am going with this. I did have a png (grainy transparency image) in use, but after reading some pointers, I removed it. Still trying,
