Many thanks for the congrats, folks! Some of you might say: "So what, I've been voted for 'Picture of the Day' several times before." However I'm really happy and I feel very honored because of this "award". :))) Needles to say I wouldn't be where I am right now without the support of this great community and it's wonderful members! This is my way to say: "A thousand thanks!!!" Phil :)))

Thanks for the hint. I really enjoyed reading this interview with one of my most favorite Poser-modellers. Though the question about his favor for boxers or briefs is still unanswered...just kidding! ;) Phil

Thread: Mac OS X, Vue and Poser? | Forum: Vue
shante, I have Vue Pro myself, but until I had no time to install it and play with it - no joke! ;) So I can only talk about Vue... As Esther already said you have to put all you Poser-related textures in the Bitmap-folder of Vue. That's a little bit annoying, but as far as I know this "bug" has been removed in Vue Pro. Regading your question about complexity... In my recent image "Go Away!" I imported nearly everything from Poser. Overall the file finally had more than 5 million polygons in it! Some people might ask why I didn't do the whole scene with Poser, but since I don't like the way the images look like with Poser I mainly use Vue for the final results. You can do much better ligthning in Vue and the materials can be enhanced a lot, too. If you have any other questions you can contact me through IM as well. Best regards, Phil

Hi Shante, just go for it! I have the same machine as Esther (G4 MP 500, 1.2 GB RAM) and Poser4 and Vue 4.2 work together very nicely. I also have Vue Pro, but had no time to give it a try so far...too much time needed for other stuff right now. ;) If you have any question about the whole Poser-import thingie I'd more than happy to help you out. Btw. I don't do animations either, just stills like estherau. Cheers, Phil

Thread: Is my Mac 933 enough for Vue? | Forum: Vue
Hi Karen, welcome to the club! I work on a G4 MP 500 (dual proc) with 1.2 GB RAM and your mac might have the same performance as mine. So you should be able to get your things done. As Walther already said it really depends on the images and render setting. Some of my works took ages to finish others not. I'm currently struggling with a new image (1600x900 pixels), but that's because of the render settings I use. Just give it a try... Have fun, Phil

You say that you don't have much memory. How much do you have? Migth be because of the size of the Poser file e.g Vickie3 figures can get quite big sometimes... Again, I'm just guessing since I've never experienced something similiar myself. Phil

What version of Vue do you use? Maybe upgrade to Vue 4.2... Never had this happen to me either. :) Phil

Welcome back, Guitta! I hope you've had a good time during your vacation - I'm looking forward to see the results of your "taking pictures from the ground"-session. ;))) Cheers, Phil

Well, I don't have Poser5 myself, however I don't know what's the problem with the bump maps might be... I work with Poser4 and Vue 4.2 and (nearly) everything works like a charm! No problems with bump maps and the DAZ Millenium dragon looks fantastic. Just take a peek in my gallery, look at my dragon images and you'll know what I mean. If you have any question about the images and how they where done I'd be happy to help you out. Phil
