Hey, I know, I do, I know. Sorry but I don't get to answer many questions. You can't add a map because Poser doesn't know how the map fits the surface of the object. To let Poser know hown you have to attribute a UV perspective to the object. To do this, click on the group edit tool (the last of the editing tools (it's a box with a dot)) and the Group edit window opens. Click on new group and select the faces on the object you want to add the texture too. You can name the group and all sorts of things. Finally click Create Perspective UVs. If you've already set up the textures in the mateials menu, when you close the group edit window the model should have the textures applied. I know it's easy but Poser gives you user so little help, in the way of useful pop up messages it took me month's to learn that!

Thanks for the tips. As for the Kabuto,I'm pretty sure I unchecked the scaling. I'll try different values as you seem to think it could be related. cheers

I've only ever seen them at Cacheforce, I think, but I just bought their GI and it sucks, big time. If you find some, it'd be great to know where - just the kind of thing I love to hoard!

I've been trying to piece together a decent WWII GI. Cacheforce have one that has a shirt that would go nicely with the rest of the pilots uniform. It costs $9 for the figure, which kinda comes out expensive for the shirt. I also have the coolest pair of black combat boots on the HD at work. I've only seen a render but they were smart as hell. I've got a 3ds airforce medal ribbon badge thing here with a good texture that comes from here (ken@chemicalstudios.com http://www.chemicalstudios.com) and there are lots of good textures on the stuff at http://www.noxgeo.com/ww3d/ but mostly German. If you have any problems with these sites I can mail some stuff off to you, but given some of the messages lately I don't know if people are going to be pleased at saving the bandwith or mad at losing the advertiing revenue!!! Nuts! nicku@club-internet.fr

Cheers Veth, err... Vethril. I fully agree with you about the pose. I've needed something neutral and natural to preview figures before posing - this is jus the thing.

Thanks everyone. So a wave is for ripples, Posette is that bald chick with no hair in my default window, and Mike and Vickie arouse different feelings. I just have the impression that Posette looks a bit, well 'Posette. If a more configurable character will make it easier to create something a little less like a catwalk model it might be worth the cash. Special thanks to duanemoody. I just checked out your site (nice touch the biografiction on spectrophotography p ph ph pewwee!) and pinched a couple of P4 morphs. So I can put off the day I buy Mike. angola
Thread: Looking for GI | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Thanks for the help. I found the the WW3d stuff and it has some great textures. Sadly not US though. I also found the Greylight General, complete with cool sunglasses, and I'm thinking that the coat could be adapted to a GI. The sand bags were a great find - thanks. angola
Thread: morph targets/installing downloaded objs, dxr, crc, files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I've got few answers, but when somebody only got Poser on Moday I feel compelled to have a go. Hopefully more complete answers will be forthcoming. I'd suggest you forget about the magnets for a couple of weeks unless you have something very precise you want to do and can't download something appropriate. what you download will either come in a cr2/rsr pair, or as an obj. file (note cr2 is for a character, a face for example comes as fc2/rsr). The cr2/rsr pairs have to go in Poser library directory they wre meant for,. ie. my downloaded characters go in C:Program FilesMetaCreationsPoser 4RuntimeLibrariescharacter. They then appear in POser inside that big menu on the right and you can use them just like the original poser figures. obj. files might be objects, but what you are talking about are morph targets, they can go anywhere you want. Download the morph that you need, many are available on this site, then inside poser, select the body part you want to change, go to Object/Load Morph Target, and locate the obj. file in the window that pops up. A dial is added to the body part in Poser and you can mess around with the setting to your hearts content. Voila, a voluptuous lady wtih none of the magnet things that only the gods understand.

Yeah I'm always losing everything especially when importing objects. If the castle is an imported obj file then set size to 100% of figure in the import window and you're not going to be out by a factor of ten. If it's an object or a prop, try checking that x,y, and z trans are at 0 and drop both figures to the floor. If you still can't see your damsel then she's probably lost inside the castle. In the hierachy editor you can click on the eyeball next to the castle and bingo it disappears revealing your figure. (you can also 'disappear' your castle in its properties window, but you may have to repeat the operation for each of its component parts). Once you've found her you can scale as others have said above. angola
