sorry for the late reply and i realize this will probably go unnoticed but.. i do like that script. honestly ockham, poser life would be insanely tedious if you hadn't been here. but i thought i heard of a script that would display the groups used by morphs that were already existing on a figure. i realize i can get these groups by pushing the morph and picking those vertices, but i thought someone had come up with something that perhaps extracted groups from the figure more automatically, like maybe from the cr2 or something? probably was just delusion. thanks for the time. again, ockham, we all owe you a huge debt. i use your scripts constantly.
Thread: Need Help with Figure Collisions! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
sorry for this late reply. i know of no way to make figures collide with each other. honestly, i don't even know why that is in the menu. there has often been grousing about that with this program. sadly, you must simply be careful how you place things. working with magnets, you can make one part of something displace another part of something. but that is pretty complex in itself. as far as i know, it simply comes down to very tedious placement of objects. best to have mutliple views open upons placement. so sorry. if i am wrong i certainly hope someone will speak up, but i don't think that is the case.

daz stuff usually has self installers that will default to a particular location...but then finding them can be a chore. users often create their own catagories and download items to folders that will help them find the items more easily. that can be as easy as simply creating your own folders, browsing to the default location for the item, loading it, and saving it to the new folder, then deleting the original item and if it created a folder of it's own, that too.

try plugging into the specular channel some material you can create in the material editor with marble or spots or some combination of these, and mess with the stregnth of the specular settings. or if you want i'm pretty sure the hyperreal products by faceoff will apply something automatically. if you are gonna animate it, you should take a v3 texture to your photo editor (resaving it so you don't damage the original of course),blank the texture, like probably black, but with the edges still defined, and create streams in separate layers, pretty easy in photoshop, and move these layers down the v3 template snapping a pic of each step. then you could composite the frames, load as an avi into the specular settings, and voila, running water down the body.
Thread: How do I keep arms still? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
go into the animation palette. go to the graphs for the shoulder, forearm, hand, and collar if you have to, and delete the keys from the sections, bend, twist, side-side, front-back, etc. you can hilight all the key boxes dragging the mouse around them, then hit the del key. then set the frames you want where you want in the animation.

Thread: Happy Holidays! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
before fox news saying happy holidays wasn't such a big deal, just a nice way to convey the emotion. if i feel like rendering a christmas tree and saying, "happy ramadan," perhaps that says exactly what i wish it to say. it may be a christmas tree. but it may be someone polite enough to not be as pushy about their faith, or outreaching enough to attempt to encompass those outside of their faith or less enamoured of it with the emotional well being they feel from this holiday.

when saving poses you must turn off ik. it's cool to use ik to get to the pose but then you must turn it off to save the pose. make sure all the body parts down the chain to the feet are included in the saved pose. i am afraid that you probably lost the saved pose because of this. ik being on makes us think that the pose is correct when we save it, but it does not save the neccessary information that will appear in the extremeties below the hip unless ik is turned off. then those dials spin to their accurate targets. then the pose will save successfully.

Thread: Strange file-finding in P6 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
that does seem odd since it always has to be pointed to any textures outside of runtime always.

Thread: a few bvh wrap up questions | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
oh okay i get that..so the scaling is not from one character rig to another but a way to compensate for the tiny size of the poser scale...(too bad...we need an app like that). and i guess the later part means no bvh for faces but i guess that makes since since the standard for that seems to vary drastically. and i guess bvh is about bones really. wow, though...so all there is in bvh is a bunch of rotation, and translation of one element. that is neat. anyway, so if the bvh is made in poser for poser, no scaling is neccessary. thanks for the reply little dragon.
