At first I thought maybe that you had the "Motion Blur" on. But that option is not available when creating a SWF. SO I guess I would need more information on what is exactly blurring. Perhaps you can post a frame so we can see what it is looking like and then we can better try to figure out what's happening. One problem may be the you've set the Flash settings to "Quantisize" every frame. This eats up memory and may cause blurring since it tries to create a new palette for every frame. James

Thread: Texture mapping question. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Simple. Poser would like a .jpg (PC & MAC) or .bmp (PC) or .pict (MAC) not a tif. I think it will read it but more likely than not you'll have problems with it. Best to stick with a jpeg, takes up less room on your hard drive and Poser likes it better. HINT: Save the jpeg at maximum to retain as much detail as possible. It's stil much small than a tiff. Thanks people. And it's good to be back posting again Ghost. I have been so busy with other stuff that I hardly get a chance to even get Poser/Bryce up and running for my own pleasure these days. But things look like they might be slowing down and I can start rendering and posting and creating once more. I am also trying to compile a Wizards Props CD. I hope I can get that going soon as well. Of course some freebies to go along with it too. Maybe even my Tower too sparrow wink Thanks again. James
Thread: Who got their start with the original Poser program? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I was also one of the first. I started out with LogoMotion from MetaTools which became MetaCreations and then moved on to Infini-D, and then the blessed Poser Came out. How could I resist. I had "cut my teeth" as mentioned above on an Amiga computer and had searched and searched for quality "people" models. I had the program "Imagine" for the Amiga back then. It was one of the first affordable programs out there for a low price that did "Bones" and a form of IK. But it was very labor intensive and not for the weak of heart. But that was then and this is now. So after many years when Poser came out, I was certainly ready for it. But I have to say it truly exceeded all my expectations. And it only gets better with time. I have had every incarnation of Poser that was to be had. 1, 2, 3, 4 and every little upgrade and update that was available. And I always look forward to the next version. Oh and this all was on a MAC (75 MHz Performa) to begin with. Now I am running Poser 4 on 3 computers -- a G4 Mac, a G4 Cube and a Pentium III PC. I was also one of the first to become a member on this forum. I really remember when there were less than 100 members here. James
Thread: Is it possible to create a glass texture/transmap? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
A Trans map is just a greyscale image. No conversion needed. Really basic. Look at a couple of maps made by other people and learn from those. Any image editor should read them. James

UVMapper is just used to create how the texture map will be applyed to the object. You need to create a Transparancy Map for a transparant effect. This can be done in any image editor program that saves jpeg or gif images. Black is completely transparent while white is completely solid/opaque. And various shades of grey determine how transparent an area is. You may also combine a bump map to the object to get a textured glass effect. I hope this makes some sense. James
Thread: Help with Mac sit files | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
As mentioned above, you will first need "Stuffit Expander". But also to point out: Unless you have a way of converting Mac files to PC or (I believe) Poser Pro Pack to read Mac files, it won't do you much good. You can however read several common files that may be included in a "sit' archive. I.E. jpegs and other image files. But you should have "Stuffit Expander" in your arsonal of must have apps anyway. Thread: DAZ still sleeping????? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
You know that they are not there for the weekends (Saturday & Sunday). Well the people that handle these issues anyway. You should be hearing from them today (Monday). I know they are very good at resolving any issue in a very timely mannor. So hang tight. I believe that they oporate as a standard business with standard Monday through Friday business hours. Though I'm sure they have some exceptions in an emergancy. But don't quote me on any of this, but I think this is the case. James

Well I've written (emailed) Punch in hopes that maybe they will either make an export available or may know of a plugin or workaround. It does have a 2D DXF export, so how hard could it be to write a 3D export. But still all in all 40 bucks for the pro version wasn't too bad for an almost throw away program. I still like the ease it makes of Decks and would love to have that to create some for my figures to play on. But also has terrible selection of windows, but better fitting than FloorPlan. JEEZ, I wish these companies would make their products complimentary to each other. But I guess that's like asking Steve Jobs and Bill Gates to the same party. ;-) I'm also going to look into Broderbunds Home design software. Seiarra Home design clearly does not work with any CAD or any other program for that matter (as an email i got from them), so It is useless. Well again, I hope to have some freebies and then some saleable items up shortly. James

There is no export as I can see in Punch, unless you know something I don't? Please share if you do. Some careful planning (pardon the pun) in FloorPlan and a quick run through TurboCad is going well. Just have to make sure you group with colors in the materials requester in FP. This finally got the windows (glass) to export as a different entity then clumped with the rest of the window. It's a little time consuming but in the end I think it will be worth it. James

Thread: Dragon castle (large file 180kb) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yes mater of fact T3W it is. I had to throw in a figure or two, and what better than a Dragon. But I found out that I did have any. So I downloaded that tex yesterday. Thanks!! There weren't many available, and yours was by far the best. Ghost, I'm using a combination of programs (Well they're really one in the same tecnically). Infini-D and Carrara. Infini-D does a much better job of percise modeling, ala their full vector editing similar to Adobe Illustrator. Carrara has it too but does not allow simple things like snap to grid/guides, guides, and nudging. I really only brought it into Carrara to save it as an obj. I hope they fix Carrara soon. They really screwed things up when they combined Infini-D and RayDream to come up with a fairly sad excuse called Carrara. But I'm hopeing on a major update someday so they might get things right. But that's besides the point. To get the curved walls with cutouts for windows and doors, required a lot of extra polys. But with a little extra planning and extra peices (lower poys) I should be able to get the size down to something less forboding. James
