I'm using Bryce 4 and Poser 3... but the map looks the right way up to me??? At least, the head does. Oh, you could be right about the body texture though. I'll try it.

Yes, I did export as an OBJ. The scale looks right to me - eg. the nostrils are the correct distance apart. It looks like everything has slipped down a bit, that's all. On the body, parts of it (eg. the upper neck as you can see here, and also half the arms and other things) are white - the body texture map didn't cover them at all. It's driving me mad!
Thread: Where can I find hair for V1 / Poser 3? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Already hit a snag with the tut - the tut assumes the hair is made up of lots of different meshes that you can select separately. The hair I'm using only shows up as one mesh in Bryce (I did export groups separately), so I can't just select that bit at the front. I don't know what other tuts to do - the link you gave only has one relating to hair.

What about if I render in Bryce instead? What settings should I use to get the textured "hairy" hair?
Thread: Eyebrows in Poser 3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Okay, thanks. I have done that now but unfortunately the hairiness has the harsh outline so they still kind of look like blobs. Hairy blobs with a clean outline - better than nothing. I will have to do post work to fix them. I don't understand why the default texture has hairy eyebrows in the first place, since they always just come up as blobs.

Thanks but I'm a bit confused by your answer. Am I stuck with them or not? Will pasting hairy eyebrows into the correct location the texture meant that those blobby eyebrows will go away? The existing eyebrows on the texture image don't look like blobs - they look like they're trying to be hairy.

Rebekah, thanks again for that link - I have downloaded the texture map. Could you point me to somewhere I can find out how to do the texture map thing in a text editor, or briefly explain for me? Thank you!

Thanks everyone. I have just managed to move the dial set up (yes I am a beginner, and how on earth is anyone supposed to discover that on their own?!) - BUT the only other options are things like size of nose, ears, dimples, etc. Still nothing for moving lips or eyebrows for expressions. Do I have to maybe select the "face" instead of the "head" to bring up a new set of dials? There's no way I can see to do that (nothing called "face" on the list). Will look for the morph although I don't actually know how to use morphs. I may be back...

Yes, I'm sure about the expressions - you can only change the whole head shape into those various "ethnic" types etc. Can't even open her mouth. She is actually completely useless! The head and body are two different things, since I have to change the skin colour separately (what a bugger, trying to get them exactly the same shade!) so maybe I could find another texture for the head the includes eyeballs.
Thread: Free Victoria 1 different question | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
She has a flesh-coloured curved blank area in her eyes, so yes I guess she has eyeballs, just nothing on them. When I select an eye, there are options for Slit Pupil, Dilate Pupil, and moving the eyeball, but since she has no pupils and irises they have no effect. When I select her head, the only options on the dials are things like AfAmerHead, NatvAmerHead, FaerieHead, Monkey, etc. There's nothing relating changing the expression like with the standard Poser 3 characters.

Thanks for all the advice. I'm still nervous about trying to upgrade from the free P3 because if it turns out I can't do it, I doubt I can return the software! Also, don't I need P4 before Pro is any use? I thought Pro was just an add-on thing and I don't think I need to go that far just yet (also, P4 plus Pro costs 3x P5, from my research). I'm in Australia and just finding someone who sells Poser is proving a challenge. Will read the other threads too - thanks.

Thank you!!! I just tried all this and there she is, back again. Rather pleased with myself for even understanding what you wrote let alone managing to follow the instructions, but you must be a good explainer.

Thanks for your replies. I don't have the world's greatest machine: Win98, 256MB RAM and... er... I don't know where else to look to give you more specs (I lack a Y chromosome). It's a 12-month-old fairly low-end computer, so I'd be a bit worried about P5 running too slow.
