......Ahhh --- I was on to you from the start young lady ---- but you ARE very CLEVER!!!!!!!!!! C:
Thread: Posting fotographs of graveyards | Forum: Photography
...I don't think there is a right and wrong here -- but though I love walking thru a graveyard with a camera -- I do shy away from photographing individual names -- unless the inscriptions are so weathered they become unreadable -- I don't think of myself as superstitious - but will sometimes tap a gravestone I have been standing near as if to say " sorry for disturbing you" .... I was in a very old cemetary last summer --- beautiful day -- cicadas droaning in the trees - dragonflys darting about -- and was in seventh heaven with my camera! - thought they should charge admission - yet I was the only "alive" one there -- wonder how many others her share these feelings.

......I think it's more irritating than anything else! --- my viewfinder has tons of little spots --- I think after years of changing lenses in all kinds of conditions - stuff just gets in there - but I think it has very little effect on the resulting image.( after awhile -- I don't even notice'm )

....hell - I'm colour - blind - what'r you asking me for???.............did I just say that? ......er - they look just fine to me.

....G'day Mate! ( does that pass in New Zealand?? )---anyway Mr. Tedz -- thank you for that delightful little story -- I must say I no longer feel quite as odd....old chap!
Thread: My little corner.... | Forum: Photography
......well -- I used to have a nice mannequin -- found her discarded from a factory that makes'm ---- felt a little odd walking home with her under my arm - decided breasts inward would do the trick --- but -- my sons thought it rather odd that their father should possess what to them was a kind of blow up doll --- one day while I was out --they knocked her head off --- I've never been quite the same.
Thread: A Gentle Reminder...... | Forum: Photography
to Tedz ---on "I do feel We should be a tad more sensitive , and consider other's feelings" --- BELIEVE me - in general - the core group of photographers here who comment ARE way more considerate-( bend over backwards not to offend - kind - nurturing, etc. )than the general public -- and it's true that I haven't been here long enough to observe these NASTY malicious character assasinators to comment on them -- but most here are gentle to a fault ----- as to plumbers opinions -- I welcome them -- had one point out a plumbing error in a bathroom picture I once drew.

....I agree that people who make comments on photos, here, should try to be thoughtful and considerate - however - even though this site has a higher proportion of gentle , sensitive, artistic souls than does the general population --- you're still going to get occasional comments that take the kid gloves off -- if you post certain images - be prepared to deal with what you get - you can't coach everybody to stay within certain limits -- again -- honest feedback here - can tip you to what might be in store in the greater outside world.

....I did see a photo, here ,awhile back in which the model appeared, to me, to have silicone implants --( which generally don't look natural to me ) -- anyway - it was a very good photograph technically -- (may even be the same one you saw )---- but the breast just jumped out and looked wrong to me ( as it probably did to any observant viewer ) --- however - I decided not to comment on it partly because one can never be sure it was an implant and decided not to ruffle the models feathers --- however if she allows herself to be put out in public on display, proud of her augmented hooters -- she should be able to take the heat.
Thread: Opinions please... | Forum: Photography
....I think if you cropped the top ( about two thirds down through the hair silhouette portion ) -- it would make a nicer composition -- the unruly hair around the face is more pleasing than the top -and works well.
Thread: february theme | Forum: Photography
....I can relate to this one -- I've had fun, in the past, setting up all manner of little coloured bottles in the late afternoon sunlight....never quite hit what I wanted ( works in progress ) .... but I like this composition.

.....I think photography can be: straight reportage -- a refined craft -- or art -- or any combination of these.

.....to Nilla --- Ansel Adams did lots of postwork to his photos -- the end result of all that dodging - burning etc might bear little relation to what the camera originally saw ....yet everyone would call his end product photography --- so - it's pretty tricky to define when that line might be crossed -- today with digital everything is cross polinated so much it becomes rather difficult to label something so that the viewer understands the process.
