Thread: Poser 5 Not Responding | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
No new software. I don't have a Firewall. The program is unlocked. It was working earlier today just fine. I have lots of content, but have not installed any since it was working fine earlier today. I can get it to open now, but it takes about 15 min. to load. Then when I try to add a figure or prop or anything for that matter it takes the same 15 minutes minimum. What's up with that? -Susan

Okay xantor, I need your help on this one: The instructions by stew are:
Installation
Usage
I have done the following and need follow-up advice:
I copied the Python script onto a Notepad document... but I don't know what he means by running it from Poser? Details please...
I downloaded the PIL Installer... and clicked on it tu run it and it said I needed Python version 2.2 (which I just downloaded). I will try to run it again. Is there anything else I need to know here?
I downloaded his OBJ exporter script (it came as a objex.py File).
Usage:
@ 2. What does he mean by "Run my script, enter the destination file name"?
Thank you for your help, Susan

Thread: Poser 5 export to .3ds | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I had the same problem with Poser 5 export to Bryce 5. Below is a free download called MeTal Fixer... suggested to me by EnglishBob. His IM read:
Poser doesn't export OBJ files in a very helpful manner - the path names in the materials are shortened. There's a utility called MeTaL Fixer which you can get from here: http://www.fignations.com/jelisa/mtl/mtl_fixer.html and some tutorials on using it here: http://www.fignations.com/jelisa/mtl/mtl_tutorial1.html
I hope this helps with your.3ds needs. -Susan

Thread: Where are my pictures? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
LOL @ Mock... great analogy! Like I said in a previous post here that was yanked by admin (because I referred personally to YouKnowWho)... admin acted as if the pictures were life threatening! Only to the pocketbooks of the Bondware Board Members though! Right now they are laughing all the way to the bank. I can just imagine 'Mr. Big Bonware' on a yacht somewhere reading this thread and laughing with all his cronies... put 'that' olive in your martini and drink it!

The admin really got themselves in a mess... no artists' images should ever be 'YANKED' unless they 'EXPLICITLY' (underlined)! abuse the TOS. The clear thought behind this was that it would impact their profitability somehow (funny how a company employee can become a pawn to this)... but it 'BACKFIRED"! That often happens when greed enters the equation...

I 'WAS' a member of the Bryce Community here until today, when I read this thread. One of my friends here was affected by this... so I decided to 'YANK' my own gallery (approximately 90 images) before the 'Gestapo' descides I'm in violation of some obscurity in the TOS. I will never pander to this type of behavior. I have also cancelled my subscription to Rendo. Below is a copy of an IM I sent to my friend. Archive of message sent to name deleted to protect the innocent: I wonder if she felt good when she had her finger on the delete button... I 'HATE' mean-spirited people and people on power trips! But, I guess it's the censorship thing that got to me most. I won't be a part of anyone or anything that endorses that! The contests whether in a designated section or not were good for the community... this was just plain 'stupidity' and that's another thing I can't abide! I posted in this thread earlier today and had the post 'YANKED. But, I guess I can't say who yanked it. This is like 'BIG BROTHER' BIG TIME! We'll keep in touch, Susan My friend IM'ed be back saying she too pictured someone gleefully pressing the delete button. No I'm sorrys will do in this case... It's both insidious and irreparable... susanmoses
Thread: Scale | Forum: Bryce
Granted... most Brycers are artists and probably not concerned with scale... other than eyeballing an approximation of one object's size in relationship to another... but in my field... when we draw an architectural model in formZ (always drawn to scale) say and then import it into Bryce to render... and then want to boolean something in Bryce to add to the model (a 6'-0" x 3'-0" x 30"h table say)... then I know to make it 2.40 x 1.20 x.60 Bryce units... I am assured of it's proportion in relationship to the model... I guess this would only apply to a few in this Forum... but an interesting fact to know.

Thread: Some ERROR :( | Forum: Bryce
Sometimes this happens when a JPEG is used as a texture... but don't fret... everything will be saved from your last save (so save often, especially before you render)... you'll just have to recreate everything from that point onwards... Make sure to delete your AxiFFFe files that are created when this happens... as they consume hard drive space. And whatever you do... find another texture JPEG if this was the case. Cut your losses and close the file... something will be there when you open it again... but the generic error message will be gone. Sometimes right-clicking on the AxiFFFe file and renaming it '.br5' will take care of the problem... but not in my case. Good luck with this.
