PS - No Curve dial on the last segment.

I found an interim solution to my problem.. I just turned off visibility for the end segment. -=JFStan=-
Thread: EasyPose Tube 2.0 - Any feedback? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I scaled and posed the tube, turned on IK and parented the end to the helmet, and then THIS happened! I can't scale it back into shape, nor will it return to normal if I detach it and zero it out.
This also happened with a tube I made and boned myself, so it may not be EasyPose Tube related, but I was hoping someone would know what's happening here. Thanks!

Thread: Woo-hoo! More new red hair textures- complete your collection! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
[Hair textures other than the standard black, blonde, and brown are much appreciated, but please consider the fact that reposting 5 times in a month may drive someone to the edge.]
I couldn't agree more.. It's also a little convenient that each hair texture thumbnail also features a texture and/or character set for sale. Coincidence...?
Product promotion is fine, but hammering away at it like that is a little much, IMHO. Glad someone else shares my opinion. :)

Thread: The DAZ Chimp Remapped.. | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
The biggest problem I found with the chimp was the eyes. The irises and pupils were too small, plus the eyewhites of a chimp (especially an older chimp) aren't white. It also helps to set the "blink" morphs to .3 so he doesn't look like he's on his third pot of coffee. :) Thanks again for the comments!

Thanks! <<Are you going to make it available?>> Possibly.. If I can make the hands and feet presentable I'll package up the new UV's and textures and put them out there. My main focus was the head and face since that was what I needed for my project.

Thread: A my idea about a MOCAP face software for POSER 3/4/5 (come on programmers !!) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'd be glad to, Andrea... I'll e-mail you soon and we can discuss our options. -=JFStan=-

Romanboy, this program would be a companion to Mimic.. And since you could record the audio while capturing the expression and then use that with Mimic (as I mentioned in an earlier post), the synchronization of expression, speech and the audio track would be perfect and effortless. I really do believe this is an excellent idea. Andygraph, perhaps we should try to find programmers/developers in other forums who would like to take on the challenge.. What do you think? -=JFStan=-

It seems this idea has merit.. Check out this site: http://www.famous3d.com/animation/Products/proFACEvideo.html This software obviously isn't designed for Poser, plus it's very expensive, but it's the same idea. The Poser version could be much simpler, since the expression morphs already exist within the characters. It would simply measure the movement of the dots and apply a certain value to the morph dial(s) based on the distance (or direction) moved. It seems that head movement is also controlled with this software by using "stabilizing markers". This may add a degree of difficulty in programming such an application for Poser. The user might just have to hold his/her head still during the capture process. So, any developers out there want to tackle this?? :) -=JFStan=-

Although it's beyond my programming capability, I think this is an outstanding and very workable idea. You wouldn't need any expensive equipment, just a simple webcam would do nicely. You could record the dialogue (audio) while capturing the facial expression animation, and then use the recorded audio with mimic to create the lipsynch. This would result in perfectly synchronized facial animation. This two step process would be a huge time saver! Similar programs (that recognize data taken from a live video feed) already exist that, for example, allow you to juggle virtual objects and play virtual instruments. I don't think it would be a huge step to record the locations of reflective dots placed on one's face and translate them into varying degrees of morph dial settings. Andygraph, I'm all for this idea of yours.. I hope you find someone with the programming prowess to pull it off! Best of luck!! -=JFStan=-
Thread: Help!! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
This happens when pivot points are moved. Resetting the pivot on all your objects before you export the model can fix the problem, but here's a more reliable way (in MAX 3, but the procedure should be similar): Select one of your objects that is currently an editable mesh. Then click the "Attach" button, and select all the other objects (one at a time) you wish to export as a single model. If these objects have different materials assigned (materials should be assigned first, BTW) it will prompt you as to how you want to handle it. Select "Match Material IDs to Material" and your individual materials will remain intact. Unclick the Attach button and export the new, single mesh. This is how I export every MAX model, and I have yet to have a problem with it. Hope this helps! Nice Helmet BTW.. -=JFStan=-

Thanks Evo, I'll try to post a short animation on my FTP site soon so you can see the pulsating effect. -=JFStan=-
