I don't know about plop windows yet, so the problem is occuring with just the main window showing. And it never happened with any of the earlier Bryce versions that I've used. If I'm the first person here to report it, I wonder if it's specific to the Mac version?? Patricia

How the heck did I miss that?! LOL Usually, application preferences are under the first menu item, I guess. Tomorrow I'll give it a try....if I tell it to create them within view, will that screw up the preview window? This is more than an aspect ratio difference--the objects are completely out of view in the main window, yet they're clearly visible and centered in the preview window. It sounds like a silly problem, but so far it's caused me to scrap 2 images I've begun, due to not being able to see clearly in the preview window when I make changes. And I've switched the preview window's view, too--but I had to do a lot of object moving in order to get them into view in the main window (which is set quite large). I cannot remember EVER having this problem with Bryce 4, which leads me to suspect that it's some simple setting that I'm spacing on at the moment.... Patricia

I have another stupid question, so, rather than starting another thread, I think I'll ask it here (it's not in the FAQ!) -- When I open Bryce 5.5 and add an object to the scene, it's not visible in the working window...I could have sworn that when I did that in Bryce 4, it appeared right away in the center of the scene. It IS visible in the little preview window, though....which I'm sure is a clue, but I'm not able to figure out what I'm doing wrong:blushing: If I move the object so that it's centered in, say, camera view or director's view, then it's way off-center in the preview window, which is maddening. I looked for any sort of "preferences" place where I could somehow set the program up so that the working window showed the center of the Bryce universe, but there doesn't seem to be one in the menu. I'm stumped.... Patricia, who feels as if she's dropping IQ points by the minute this evening

That was quick! Thank you, even though the answer is not what I'd hoped. I feel really dumb for not being able to find the FAQ with the new forum layout:blushing: Patricia

Happy Passover back at'cha, David:biggrin: I'm Jewish (sort of--he's secular) by marriage, so I know the holidays, at least. You are becoming a Patriarch--congratulations! Stonemason, thank you--I'd not realized that it was the Freak and not M3--the textures work on any of the unimesh DAZ figures. Perhaps that's why I'm having such trouble getting the facial mesh to do what I want it to do... I think I'll email the texture maker(s) and see if they have any suggestions on adapting that wonderful face to Michael3. If I learn anything, I'll post it here on this thread. Thank you all for your input--I'm picking up Poser again after a long sabbatical and I'm rusty, so help is appreciated. Patricia

Is THAT where I saw that face before--?! It seemed familiar, but I couldn't place it. Was it Balthazar? Wonder if I have any of those old episodes backed up on tape anywhere? Hmmm....but you know, even with the ad pictures to work from, I couldn't get the brows into that shape without deforming the mesh and the cheeks didn't look right either. Not nearly as easy a set of features to morph as I thought it would be. dph, what does your sig line mean? I got a D in Latin back in the paleolithic era.... Love your picture--is that actual progeny of yours?? Patricia

The texture is gorgeous, but even after a lot of work trying to get those features, I can't seem to get it to look nearly as good as the one above in the picture. I suspect that some magnets were used (that, or the person who created it was WAY better with morphing than I am! LOL) Well, if no one can ID the character by tomorrow, I guess I'll email the texture artist. Even the ad renders, which my smaller image above is cropped from, are excellent. I will definitely post the answer when I get it. Who knows? If it's not offered commercially now, maybe the interest will convince the artist to offer it...? I went ahead and got the texture set, so I'm anxious to get my hot little hands on the character Patricia

It IS close, but I've gotten even closer on my own, using the basic M3 morphs. But I can't seem to capture the features, let alone that great expression. If no one recognizes him, I may have to email the vendor, but I was hoping that someone would pipe up with, "Oh, yeah--that's the "X" character set!" and save me the trouble Patricia

Thank you! Found it at long last--so much wasted time :o( Do you know that searches with the product name do NOT lead to the product? What's up with that?! Patricia

Question--I went to DAZ to buy the GND2 and, despite numerous searches under all possible spellings, not one item came up. I then went through the morphs available for V3 (8 pages of them!) and didn't see her listed...?! Where the heck IS the Girl Next Door? I love the lingerie that's in the 'Rosity store for her, which is what got me started looking for her. Patricia

You mean that MacInstaller and Maconverter won't work with Poser 6?!! Oh, nooooo...! Well, that settles it, I'm going to kidnap Carrolly for a day and not let her go home until my Poser 6 is working with multiple runtimes ;o) Seriously, I don't know what other non-techie type artists do when faced with this stuff...? If I didn't have a friend who's both, I'd be sunk. I've spent all day reading tutorials on it and I'm still boggled ;oP Patricia

Has anyone done a step-by-step tutorial for Mac users yet? I have the manual and also a guide book, but I can't figure out how to link other Runtimes to P6. The tute for Windoze completely confused me--Mac is very different. Patricia

You do have Maconverter and Macinstaller, right? If not, go here-- http://www.soft-rabbit.com/ and DL and use them faithfully :o) Patricia

Wonderful! You are doing those very complex fractals that I'm interested in learning to do. I'm happy to see a whole gallery just for ArtMatic, even if it's small at present. Are there any tutorials that you know of for working with fractal renders in Photoshop? I keep seeing things in the fractal gallery that look like 3 dimensional fractal forms or that feature a fractal that looks as if it's bulging out of the picture plane. I have a new version of Photoshop, but am not finding tutorials to do that kind of manipulation of the image. (The ones I see in the gallery are usually done in XenoDream or UltraFractal) Thank you for your help! I'm a rank beginner at both fractals and at Photoshop (though I can do elementary postwork on Poser renders at present) Patricia
