Thread: WIP: Photorealistic texture for mike | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
thanks for all the positive feedback. It's realy fun creating this texturemap but it's also a very time consuming process.Guess it will be along, long time before it's finished. Great Bizarro: I use an outdated capture card with a maximum resolution of 768576 pixels. Because the texturemap is 20002000 I have to increase the original 'snapshots' and sharpen it in photoshop. again thanks,

Thread: hello, i'm new ! | Forum: Bryce
I'm 29 and I'm into CGI for a couple of years now. I started with a Bryce 2 Demo and I'm usingusing Bryce5 now. My tip is this: Learn alot from others: There are so many 3D resources on the web these these days. Galleries, Tutorials. Also don't be afraid to experiment. Videography? like in animations? go to www.pocketmovies.net and you'll be surprised what you can do whith a pc and some 3d-software...
Thread: Why Bryce? | Forum: Bryce
Bryce is not a modeling program like for instance 3DMAX or Rhinoceros. Therefor you are forced to use other models (like poser models) if you go beyond creating landscapes. That's why Bryce is so much cheaper.... I use Bryce because 1: it's realy, realy easy to use. 2: It gives me complete control over the materials I use in a scene. I do agree that Bryce is not superior in rendering time. But that I take for granted and there are ways to bypass that also...

found all I need to know at: http://www.pctechguide.com/24digvid.htmThread: Quick tech question about animations in broadcast quality | Forum: Bryce
I found out it's 25fps for pal and 29.97 for NTSC... guess I'll stick with pal (less rendering time) thanks clay
Thread: Quick tech question about animations in broadcast quality | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
thanks for the info jim. I have a Leadtek Nvidea Gforce card with twinview wich enables me to record my animations to my vcr. I experimented abit lately with the resolution. 800600 looked fine but 720480 would also work I think (using PAL). DVD burners are WAY to expensive right now (maybe next year) so I'll burn it to VCD with Nero for now.... again thanks for your reply.... Stardust

Thread: Pixelation in my animations... | Forum: Bryce
I guess with 'pixelation' you mean that the animation gets kind of blurring /Unsharp? In that case I think the codec is the cause of your problem. I made several animations in Bryce and tried different codecs to get 1: a good quality, 2: a small file. I'm not happy at all with the codecs that comes with Microsoft's Windows 98/Me. They do a good job at decreasing the file-size but In my opinion the quality really sucks. I prefer converting the AVI-file to Mpeg, DivX or a quicktime MOV-file.
Thread: a word about rating here on renderosity - DREAMSPINNER | Forum: Community Center
If you're on a crusade and deliberatly downgrading all 'perfect' 10's on this site, I wish you the best of luck. There are a couple of hundreds of them! Isn't it remarkable that none of these crusaders have ever uploaded an image of their own?....
Thread: New Processor or Ram or Graphics Card | Forum: Bryce
This is a very good question! Your Graphic-Card has no Influence whatsoever to the Render-Time.The best thing you can do for reducing the render-Time is to get the fastest CPU you can afford. That's where the rendering happens. Getting more Ram isn't wrong neither. It's faster to read & write to Ram instead to your Hard-Disk. Because when you have a very large and/or complex scene and you have enough real RAM that the computer doesn't have to swap to the hard drive (using virtual memory). The only real way to reduce render time is to reduce scene complexity The big killers for render time are: 1) highly complex textures 2) volumetric materials 3) lots of light objects(!) 4) highly detailed imported DXF/OBJ meshes etc. Hope this will help...
