I got 40....

I had a render going the other night, only to wake to find materials decided to play switch-a-roo :cursing:  My owl became a strawberry, with blueberry legs.  A set of trees suddenly took on the mat of what, I still haven't figured out!  So, I had to redo/re-import etc quite a few things.  I will try re-rendering again tonight.

For those having the issues I mentioned above a reply from EON has arrived:

My OGL is basically non-existent, not sure what else to say here. The items show up fully burgundy shaded(I have tried checking & un-checking limit polys to no avail). In addition, when I go to use a backdrop it doesn't show until I render.

V6I has full OGL & the camera backdrop works as well, it shows as soon as I apply it.

I thought all this was fixed, this is very frustrating :(

I probably could have but I wanted lots of other items, therefore painting all over. In addition it was in the back on another terrain.

Chipp, I think the problem is that the backdrop does show up once it's rendered, it just doesn't show UNTIL you render now(after the render it gos back to blank screen).  If I add a backdrop in V6I the backdrop shows w/out having it to be rendered out.

Your image shows a rendered image, not just a screen grab after applying the image.

Hope that makes sense.

Edit - by selecting restrict to underlying object did indeed solve the problem :)

The backdrop doesn't show for me either once applied.  V7I - XP x64. Nvidia 880 Ultra - drivers 181.20

My sincere condolences to you & your family.

I would suggest sending the offending model/models to EON.  I have done this in the past with 3ds etc.  They were able to nail down the problem & fix it up in a an update.

For example, when 7 & 6 came out various(not all) 3ds models were causing Vue to crash or hang up so I sent them a sampling of offending models...In the next update this was all fixed up.  Typically if you get the model in when EON issues a fix you can see the irregularities in the geometry ie odd verticies/odd welding/bad uvmaps/bad normals etc etc. 

IMO - send them the model/models you are having issues with.
