Thread: How Much???? | Forum: Blender
I was thinking more along the lines of transferring the files from the old drive, if that was even possible, to a thumbdrive.

Thread: What I Hate about Poser is the stupid lights | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It's been awhile since I've even started up DAZ Studio, so can someone tell me how the lights are different from Poser's and or better?
I've had other things on my mind.

You know, you would think a forum moderator for Renderosity would get the program for free. Just saying'!I use Poser 12. Even just CPU rendering on Superfly is faster for me than Firefly. Since I can use Optix, it's a no-brainer. I use Poser 11 when I need a script that I don't have an equivalent on 12 or to test or do renders for products. I want to update to Poser 13. I'll have to see if I can swing it.
Thread: Poser 13 updated - what were the changes? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I didn't know how to do it, but yeah, I did at least wish I could add more inputs, at least into the Color Ramp node. More than 7, maybe 10.The problem with the curve nodes is that they require a special user interface that Poser doesn't have at this moment. I have made a simple replacement material for the missing Cycles Color Ramp which you can find in the free stuff section. Look for 7 color color ramp. At the moment it only does constant and linear, however you can change types with-in the node. So part can be linear and other areas constant. I am working on an improved version that will add in the Ease and the HSV color hue shifts. The ease was a simple addition. The Color hue is giving problems as it crosses the Zero point. Should hopefully have that solved soon.
The biggest problem with the user interface is that each node is fixed in size for inputs. Whereas the Cycles Color Ramp allows you to add dozens of points and slide them back and forth. That by itself should give an understanding of how hard it will be to put that node with that functionality into the material room

EClark1894 posted at 6:46 PM Sat, 8 April 2023 - #4461371Sadly, that's what I thought. Sad thing is, Poser didn't have to lose me as a customer. I might still have bought P13 if Poser or rather Renderosity and or Bondware would have explained to me their reasoning for not including the curve nodes. I started talking about this during P11, to this day, nothing from the development team of either Bondware or Smith Micro on the matter. Either an explanation for or against the nodes would have have been appreciated, but even a simple "go to hell" would have told me they were at least aware. No p13 doesnt have all the node (curve node etc)My biggest criticism of Poser has always been the lack of all the Cycles nodes needed to make it completely compatible with Blender. Does Poser have all of those nodes now??? Anyone???? If not, I won't be upgrading to Poser 13 for the forseeable future. I'll just render with Blender.
Utimately, I admit that the nodes alone, won't ruin Poser. No, that will go to Renderosity's botched, inadequate marketing. I blame Smith Micro for a lot of Poser's downfall, but save for their handling of Content Paradise, I can't really blame them too much for Poser's bad marketing.

Thread: So, since nobody else asked... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Except for mostly new content from DAZ all of my older content from them works fine. However, while I didn't really expect anything overnight, it does still irk me that almost any page I open on this site still contains an abundance of Studio content for sale. They won't be bringing any new or old users in from you know where.

Okay, you'll need to explain to me how Genesis 8 wasn't just a morph.La Femme had Anime LF... and Genesis 8 wasn't just a morph, etc. But I know what you mean. Might be a good idea, perhaps.
Thread: No new Figures | Forum: Poser 13
Silly question, but would a new morph of an exisiting figure count as a new figure?. I've noticed for a while that Poser tends to make new figures, and then kill them off or dead end them. V4 had Stephanie 4, Aiko4 and the Girl4. Genesis is up to Genesis 8.

A_Sunbeam posted at 10:35 AM Thu, 30 March 2023 - #4459967I have to tell you, even though, i'm not currently on a Mac, that the way Poser was developed equally with regards to Mac and Windows, was the clincher for me buying my first version of Poser all those years ago. I hope you guys can get this development difference fixed. We will share more info on this in the coming weeks as Poser 13 for Mac is still in development.MacPoser 13 ... ok, I can wait - but what version of Mac OS is required? Just hoping it will run on my Mac!
