I have always and still do plan to make more stuff for Natalia and Dina. It's been very slow because for various life reasons having nothing to do with Poser, I've had very little time for this kind of thing for the past year or two. Also, I try to do everything for both Dina and Natalia, so when I make something, I have to make it twice, and I also try to include morphs to match the character body morphs, etc. That makes it take longer. It's true that non-DAZ figures have an uphill battle to fight. I really appreciate the people who are willing to support and be fans of my work. It means a lot. When DAZ makes a figure, many vendors immediately get to work and make stuff for it. When I do one, people look at me and say, "Where's all the stuff?" (or at least that's how it feels much of the time). It sounds like other character creators are in the same boat. It's really hard for one person to compete volume-wise with a company that has a staff of full-time modelers.
I've said this before but there is a huge untapped market for Dina stuff out there. Dina has been selling very consistently and quietly for years now, plus she's been included with 3D world magazine a couple of times.
I do try to make what clothing and accessories there are as verstile as possible. For example, the versa-dress in basics pack 2 for Dina and Natalia can make over thirty different garments all by itself. I also do have a few freebies out there (see link).
Anyway, I will endeavor to get more out as time permits.

Thanks for the plug, guys! I know I've been under most people's radar for the past year or two, but I'm still here. I'm slowly starting to produce things again. There are a couple free character faces for Natalia available on my website right now.Thread: Natalia as a "Drag King" Take 2 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I'm sorry if this post shows up twice... Anyway, I already wrote to Andrew, but I'll repost part of the message here: As far as distribution, I don't mind at all so long as the .obj files for Natalia are not included. You can distribute a modified .cr2 if you want. I would actually prefer this to individual morph targets. A morph INJ script is probably okay but it might be easier to just use the .cr2 (unlike DAZ I have no restrictions on this). So long as the textures are your own work (or your partner's) there is no problem there, either. These are the same general guidelines I use for all my products. I've included a link to my downloads policy page. I originally put these guidelines together for free items, but they will do just as well for purchased items.Thread: Nadya or Natalia | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

You can get Natalia in two versions. If you're mostly interested in just a regular human figure, you can buy the Natalia 3 Basic version which is a bit cheaper. You can always upgrade to the Ultra version with all the extra body parts later if you want.Thread: Dacort's original P4 Mermaid | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

Actually the original mermaid is no longer available direct from my site. I do have Undine Lite, which is much better. If you really want the old one I think there might be one or two sites out there that have her still. - DanThread: The Real DinaV (Real Person Picture) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL

I have some of the morphs available on my site, too, if you can't find them on Renderotica, on the downloads page (on my site you may have to hunt a bit). A while back I did a set of morphs to completely reshape the chest area, which a lot of people seemed to like. There's one morph that makes the chest completely flat, and another that makes the breasts smaller, better shaped, and more in proportion to the rest of the figure. You can also dial these in part way to achieve quite a variety of breast shapes.Thread: DinaV vs. Victoria 3 | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I'm not sure about the rendering time issue. Maybe it has something to do with the Vicki 3 .cr2 file, which I think is more complex than Dina's. The lack of free and commercial products is a problem, yes. Basically people go for what's most popular, so they make stuff for Vicki. I am only one guy. I can't do it all myself. I have released free morphs on my site to tone down Dina's top-heavy look. Katia is another of Handspan's great characters, yes. There are more Dinas out there than people realize, and I think other vendors could do well making stuff for her. Dina does have her fans, and they would like more stuff! After all this time, though, I'm sorry but I don't buy the arugument that it has to be an either/or question. Now we have a flood of new cartoonish characters who are not Vicki, and I haven't heard any gripes about lack of free stuff, clothing, textures, etc. for them. People buy them in addition to Vicki, so why not Dina or Natalia, too? Some of these cartoon girls are outright scary, too, in terms of looks. Dina, by the way, has MODELED genitals. This is not the same thing as a morph. A morph just moves around existing polygons. It can't create what isn't there. I just see newbies confuse these things sometimes so I wanted to clarify that. Anyway, if there's one thing I've learned it's that you can't please everybody, and that's okay. So feel free to hate Dina if you like. Totally cool with me.

Dina V has around 113,000 polygons while Vicki 3 has around 75,000. Dina V doesn't can't use Poser 4 style conforming clothing for Vicki 3, though it may be possible to use Poser 5 dynamic clothing on her. There is also a figure called Vina D, which can wear clothing for Victoria 1 and 2. Vina and Dina can use the same morphs and textures. Dina and Vina are also fully anatomically correct. A lot of people were unhappy with Dina's looks when she first came out, but there have been some very cool characters released for her, such as Handspan Studio's Giselle, that are quite beautiful. This site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
