Yeah, I've done that for years. Usually it worked - this time, possibly because I was working with a huge file and cut out something by accident, the parenting info was lost, but the really strange part was the way the UV maps were messed up - that shouldn't have happened, since it loaded the properly-mapped OBJs themselves. I was working with 1 parent and 8 or 9 child props in one PP2 - I think I might try saving each as an individual prop, update each with an OBJ reference, then load them from the library, parent them, and then save the set.

Outstanding! Thanks for the tip!
In the meantime, I think this is something that warrants going in the wishlist forum for the next version, too ;)
Thread: Hither and yon settings to render a specific range in front of the camera? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Sure, if you don't mind - the first method sounds interesting.
Does anyone know the purpose of the hither and yon settings, if not to constrain the render range?
Thread: Mom's Day - good with sale items, not Prime - what if not a Prime member? | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Understood. But it should say that. Also, don't Prime members get any sale prices that are below the Prime prices, anyway? So they have no disadvantages during sales, plus great deals the rest of the time - sounds like a win-win for them in any case.

Thread: Transfer V4 textures automatically to other characters... | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Now I'm going to ask the silly - but to me, obvious - question: which is more useful and practical to the end user: a utility that converts a texture map from one to another, or a set of UVs for target figures based on the UV-mapping of the source figure, with a utility that swaps the UVs dynamically within Poser or D|S? Would this be more or less difficult for the creator - to create UV mapping for a figure that aligns with that of a completely different figure - as opposed to both needing to map the polys of one figure to another and then ALSO engineer the migration of pixels from their original location to their new destination?

Thanks, guys! I had been told that you might have touched on this already, bagginsbill, but my search didn't return anything that looked relevant (imagine that!). Dopey me - I hadn't thought about rendering it to the background! It's already UV-mapped and self-illuminating!
Thread: Department Filtering for MarketPlace is badly ordered | Forum: MarketPlace Customers
Which, unfortunately, is TOO broad - it returns all clothing that is compatible with DAZ Studio. Plus, if I'm searching for clothing items, my first instinct is not to search in "Software."
Thanks - but it doesn't really address the problem.

Yeah, definitely more Godzilla-like . The original looks kind of like a Groeningzilla .

Thread: Grouped props to rigged CR2? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Well, after seeing the responses here, I went back and tried it again. I didn't realize that creating a figure would save it in the Figures directory and I'd have to hunt it down and tweak it there - I tried it with one of my freebie props that's currently 2 separate props, and darned if it didn't give me a nice, shiny new figure! I tweaked the center point on the moving lid of the box, turned off bend on BOTH parts (good to know! :-) ) and now it's a working CR2 just like the Great Bird intended (yeah, it's a Star Trek prop ;-) ).
Thanks for setting me straight! This just might make things a lot easier!

Hmmm, well, that didn't seem to work, after all. It converts a single prop into a figure, but I don't see a way to do it with a group, and even the manual seems to ignore that button, at least in this sort of context. When I tried it, I can select only one item, and it converts that one item into a figure, and parents everything else to it, so I'm in the same boat I was already in, except that now it's a figure and 3 props, instead of just 3 props ;).
Back to the drawing board ...

Quote - the other thing that is way faster now is scrolling in the parameters dials when I have all the V4 morphs opened to view them all.
That used to be so slow previously that it was almost unusuable for me.
That's great to hear - the parameter dials in PP2010 have averaged about 5-10 seconds just to change focus when moving from one to another - it's really slowed down my productivity, not to mention spoiled many a mood ;).
