Thread: Does Daz3d Have something called ArtZone? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Not to mention the fact that nobody can be over the age of 50. In the profile section, when you attempt to create your profile, there are no years of birth availabie prior to 1956 - so for those of us who were born BEFORE that point, I guess we're just not wanted or something. No big. Not like I need yet another lame website to keep track of.
Kate (who is a couple of years PAST 50, thankyewveddymuch)

#1 - Avatars Avatars are a bad thing. They increase the load time, they take up so much space that in order to read the actual messages I have to scroll far enough to the side that I can't even see the avatars anyway, and therefore have no idea who is saying what. And if I increase my screen resolution, I can't read the text because it's so freaking small to begin with. Totally useless, IMO. #2 - Smilies Like we need these. Especially the huge ones. Yeah, right. I have always disliked smilies. Especially animated smilies. Most especially HUGE animated smilies. PUH-LEESE. Could we possibly lose these juvenile toys? #3 - overall Layout, etc. I hate it. I hate ALL php based forums. YUCK!! But I hate this one most of all BECAUSE IT JUST DOESN'T WORK!!! Of course, I know y'all will not go back to what DID work. You never do. Therefore, I'm pretty sure Renderosity is soon going to be one of those sites that gets removed from my bookmarks list. Or at the most, moved to my "Bookmarks, Archive" folder so that it will be there if I need to re-download past purchases, which, frankly, at the rate y'all are going is going to be the only useful thing about the site. Thread: Need a Coder. | Forum: Community Center
Ok, here is the absolute simple and easy way to change the colors - and you don't need to understand stylesheets and CSS coding at all to do it. Step #1: Copy the CSS code and paste it into any decent text editing program (it MUST have a "search and replace" function) Step #2: Open your favorite paint program (I use Paint Shop Pro 7 for this). Step #3: Using the search and replace function of the text editor, search for # - DO NOT put anything in the REPLACE box. Hit enter. Step #4: When you get to the first # found - look at the line. If it says something like "background color" then it is the background color. Copy the numbers after the # and paste them into the little box in your paint program that has # followed by 6 numbers. The color will show up in the color box and will show you what color you are editing. If you want that color to stay the same, just go back to the text editor and hit the "find next" button in the search box. If you want to change the color, find the color you like in the picker and the numbers in the hex box will change. Copy those and replace the numbers in the text editor. It takes a little time, but if you go line by line you can get it done without needing to understand the actuall CSS coding. Once you have the colors changed to what you like, save the file, copy it and paste it to the box in the My Options section and hit the appropriate button. Tada! No muss, little fuss. NOTE: This method does not work when you are dealing with color NAMES. To apply this to color NAMES you have to find each one (grey, blue, red, etc.) and replace those with the color codes of your choice. Kate (who doesn't understand CSS either, but knows at least enough HTML to figure out the important stuff)
Thread: Still no news from Poserworld ! | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I have to add my voice to those singing the praises of PoserWorld. I am also a lifetime subscriber (went that route from the very beginning) and have never had a problem of any sort. I'm one of the lucky folks who have been around the Poserverse almost from the beginning and knew the quality of the items put out from the old non-subscription sites that were eventually combined to make PoserWorld (anyone else remember FairyWoods??? Huh? Do ya?? grin) Kate

The detachable and expandable library window. Now if I could just get it to stop corrupting files on my other partitions I'd be able to actually use it. sigh
Thread: Get a head start with the new baby (New freebie inside) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok, that one worked just fine. Was able to get that page to load with no problems. When you mentioned java I went "Aha!" since sometimes the javascript seems to work fine and sometimes it doesn't with NS 7.1. For instance, the DAZ pages never redirect for me, I always have to click on the "click here" link after I login there. I think we've located the problem. Yay us! :) Bummer about the SSI deal. Go ahead and keep the java image changer thingie. I'll just make a note that I need to use IE for your site. Used to have to do that with the DAZ site too. Kate

Ok, tried going to main.htm. Bounced me right out of my browser and back to the desktop. I really do think it's something on MY end that's causing it. Something in my setup just doesn't like your site. I can get to the front page with the nifty flash welcome sign, just can't get beyond that. Works fine in IE, tho. Mebbe I need to update my flash. I'll try that and see what happens. Kate
Thread: Why do you hate magnets ? | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I hate magnets because even with the tutorials (most of which lose me at step 1, btw, as they become too darn complicated after that) I can't figure out how to get them to work. Heck, I'm still trying, after 5 years, to figure out the stupid grouping tool (can't get THAT to work right, either). Sooo... when I buy a character package, I check to make sure it doesn't involve the use of magnets because I can't use them at all. And I've spent way too much time frustrating myself trying to learn them, so I have just plain given up. Some things are just beyond my capabilities and magnets and the grouping tool are in that category. Kate (who is evidently too stupid and too tired of failure to even WANT to learn at this point)
Thread: Get a head start with the new baby (New freebie inside) | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Ok, I managed to grab it and it's a great freebie, but I did have to use IE instead of netscrap 7.x The problem: When I click to enter the site it shuts down my browser and kicks me back to my desktop. Dunno what's causing it. Using Netscape 7.1 (cuz I don't like the newer versions). Could be a problem with the flash on my end or some such. Not a major thing, just a minor annoyance cuz it makes me go hunt up IE (there's a few other sites out there that do the same thing). I need to find the updates to 7.x. I know I've got them on cd somewhere. Kate (who doesn't want you to worry about this, just wanted to fill you in on the NS 7 issue)

sigh Now I gotta go figure out where I hid IE so I can access the website. Looks like a great freebie tho! :) Kate

I'll be there in spirit, Carolly, as always. I hope you have a wonderful crew this year (I'm stuck with my stoopid brothers eye roll) Kate
