Yes you are correct - I didn't try posing the chasracter. I found I had to "fit " Rex's sneakers to the jeans on my model to make it right. I had a "little" better result by loading base Rex then loading Rex with clothes. Delete the second rex leaving the clothes then fit them to base Rex- still ahd to fit sneakers to Jeans and hair needed adjusting. This sort of thing is always a problem moving from one software to another which I have learned is best avoided for the sake of sanity !!

I have never used my poser 10 much but have added a link to the poser library in my Carrara content "tab" . Thumbs show up and everything loads with a click no problem .I dont seem to have Tyler or Myki characters though which I gather are a problem. Are these still in Poser Cr2. crz. format ?Library Objects also load.

I hate it when vendors are not upfront with advertising - I am looking for a new figure and FREE base would have been perfect to try out in Carrara but that sneaky $3.50 minimum purchase annoys me !! Grrrr So ooo --- maybe someone can tell me if there is any chance of creating lipsync on this character in Carrara or even in Poser. I have no idea what its file structure is. I imagine she would have to be exported from Poser first ?

Lowering the price of the bridge isn't really what people want. What people want is for you to come out with a single product called VWD Daz Studio edition that is a version of VWD without Poser support but with the Daz plugin built-in. That product should come with a single installer that should "just work." You should then work out a deal with philemot where you pay him a percentage of sales or just buy him out outright. You're not spending enough time thinking about what your customers need. They want things to be simple. Having to buy two separate products is too confusing.

We also want easy presets. This isn't just about making things easier for the customers, but about marketing too. You should be releasing free presets for common products onto sharecg and elsewhere once every week/month as part of your marketing. Where are my Wilmap VWD presets? Where are my MFD presets? Where is the easy VWD equivalent to Daz autofit?

I use DAZ Carrara and as one of the first users of VWD I have followed Gerard with this program and know what a huge effort has gone into providing this exceptional feature which Daz has not provided and you would love to have so be thankful someone has made it possible as I am.** If I were you I would get Daz Carrara and buy the bridge which launches VWD panel in the Carrara interface and works just fine.** Studio is 'rap IMHO and although Carrara has not been updated for five years [ thanks DAZ ] it is still streets ahead of studio except of course where Daz has moved ahead and NOT updated Carrara to keep pace with Genesis development. If Daz autofit is so wonderful,why do you need VWD ? VWD is more about animating clothand hair or any mesh.

Carrara has so many features I love but LIGHTS would be high on the list of my favourites. You can create some really interesting special effects such as lasers. Experiments are endless.as there are a great many attributes you can apply or animate. My wish list would be for "Realistic Ocean " although you can make some interesting looking waves with a terrain and using the special shaders from the shader room then animating the terrain with a wave modifier. The orca ocean plugin helps with floating objects. By the way "Animators " dont forget to check out CarraraTors forum Heaps of information here on animation and other stuff.

I second Dudu's comments - Your knowledge of Carrara and 3d is invaluable to the community - your tutorials the best ! Really , I mean that. So we are sad but hope eventually you will have time again to frequent these and other forums whils we wish you the best for your future direction.

I mentioned "plugins" in my above post - Fenric [ creator of many useful add ons ]seems to have closed his store ? Any one know why and can his products still be purchased ? Cant see any links on his site http://fenric.com/wordpress/downloads/ This page allows you to download trial versions but how to buy the key ?

Unfortunately, I think it is safe to** say we will NEVER * see a Carrara 9 or even tweaks from Daz.. But despite its dismal future I'm sure users will get many more years pleasure and production from it. It remains formidable as is. The plugins people have been kind enough to make available -mostly free - extend it's features significantly so here's hoping there will eventually be more plugins for things like like fluids & mesh destruction [ just two of my wishes].

Someone mentioned "cheetah" for mac as being bettered featured but I didnt see in its feature list - plant creation, terraines or atmospheres and clouds.And is there a way you can animate speech in Cheetah - as done with Carrara's mimic plugin ? is it any good with daz characters ? What about dynamic clothing ?

I am still experiencing a few problems that crop up " randomly" - I am trying to determine under what circumstances.The following was reported in the Daz Carrara forum a week or two ago.. As it occurred again yesterday I raise it again here - I'm thinking it may be to do with hair because hair was involved in a few sims that stopped. PROBLEM - simulation stops [ for no apparent reason ] at about 80% complete.VWD freezes and only way out is control/alt/delete to stop the program. Realise not much to go on but anyone else having this problem?

I intended to run some sims today so loaded the .car file I saved yesterday [ V4 with Hair only and some head animation] PROBLEM - I started vwd and pressed the "Host List" button then got error message as per attached image. Not sure exactly what it means but my initial question is- would there be any reason a .car file loaded would not properly be recognised by VWD? I'm sure I've used saved files before without problem.

VWD 1.0.366.2786 full version and philamo plugin is latest beta.

I hope Carrara doesn't go the way of "Antics" - an animation program available a few years ago. We were lured into upgrading to professional at a cheap price. A few months later it was announced Antics would no longer be supported and the site shut down. However I don't believe Daz would go that far with Carrara would they ? -- Would they ??
