Thread: bryce or cheap porno | Forum: Bryce
Pornography is not subjective. It is clearly defined as visual and/or auditory content created and presented for the sole purpose of sexual gratification or stimulation. That's what it is and there ain't no denyin' it. Art, however, is totally subjective and can easily and often does blur into pornography. After all, folks were mighty turned on by the Mona Lisa's seductive smile in her day... there's no shame in pornography if you're an adult and you're looking for it. However it shouldn't appear where it's not expected. The general populous is disturbed by pornographic imagery - especially when they're surprised by it. I can see how average folks would be disillusioned by viewing the Bryce HOT20, as many of the images, while technically well done, were obviously done with the intent of sexual stimulation. (the images themselves would lose no artistic merit if the people in them wore clothes, would they? - they'd still be good art, and funny and all that, they just wouldn't be porn anymore...) Sexuality has it's place in art, it's a huge part of us as living beings, but a posette with her legs spread being examined by aliens (again, technically a well done image) should perhaps be separated from the non-overtly-sexual images. It should ALL be accessible, I believe, but as creators we should take responsibility for our intentions, and not cry "WAAAAH....IT'S ART" every time someone complains. Porn is porn. Don't be ashamed to call it that. Everyone deserves to show their work to the world, regardless of content. If you make an image that turns you on, or is overtly sexual, good for you! But do you not agree that perhaps it should be in a gallery with other images of that type? Where you won't be surprised by it as you're trying to show your kids how cool Bryce art can be? Wasn't that what Renderotica was all about? If the gallery moderators here don't care, then that's another thing altogether. Certainly seems to be the case, anyway. It's their house, after all, we're just partyin' in it. But the BEST artists are here, and it's a crime to send folks away from Renderosity to view the Bryce Forum gallery because the owners of this gallery won't recognize requests to separate content. That's just lost potential revenue... and definitely lost site traffic.

yes please post your results, if you would. thanks for the post, now it's beginning to make sense. I suppose I'll save my cash and dump it into memory instead. thanks again for 'splaining that to me. :) I like your name, I just finished a render called Lifebringer. :)Thread: Video Card advice? | Forum: Bryce
wait... bus speed? bryce won't take advantage of video RAM at all? well that's the saddest thing I've ever heard.... but I suppose that's why I saw a render time increase when I got my new 200 MHz bus motherboard. is this strictly a function (non-function) of bryce? I know 3dstudio max likes 64M of VRAM at the minimum... If you have time could you explain this to me? I love bryce, and will probably always use it (if Corel doesn't screw it up next version), and I'd like to know how to maximize my bryce performance. thanks for your help, C

Oh i completely agree. I generally try to avoid using poser figs altogether. (because I don't have the patience to make 'em look good) Some people really have a good handle on it, and can make them look amazing, but it takes a delicate touch and some significant post production. I think you just have to know what to show, and what to hide... Zygote makes some nice models for poser that are far less awkward than the default, also some of the folks in the bryce/poser community at large have figures available for download, one that springs to mind is www.3dmodelworld.com Lannie's got some nice figures there, and she's definitely got the touch with poser. check it out. and again, Brycetech too has the touch. I saw a recent image with a poser model in it from BT, and it knocked my socks off. So it's possible, it's just not easy.... heehee that was like 8 cents worth.... ok 6 and a half... :)Thread: Poser figures look like plastic :-((( | Forum: Bryce
also check here http://www.brycetech.com I think BT has just posted a nice tutorial. I got a peek at the skin tex in development and it's really finely done. If it's not posted yet, i expect it will be soon...

Very nice! the action is great...you have a very good sense of space. two things that caught my eye.. The wall texture is very nice, but it seems out of scale to the figures. It's so big it's distracting. maybe make the pattern smaller? also the spraying blood in the air (ewwwww very nicely done) would cast a slight shadow on the wall too... even spraying water casts a slight shadow, and blood is mostly opaque. Thats my 2Cents. excellent work! CynthThread: Dissipitation | Forum: Bryce

Hi, I'm new to Renderosity but if I may be so bold, I think I can help you out. I find it most effective to export models as .3DS files. (not .max, bryce chokes on .max files) If the model is complex, you may want to export it in parts that you can put back together in bryce. To smooth them in bryce, select the object and press the small box with the letter E on it (from the teeny icons that appear next to your selection) there you can adjust how much you smooth the facets. :)) AerilionThis site uses cookies to deliver the best experience.
