Flash is not tough to learn, but a bit time consuming until you figure out the interface.
If it were me, and a client wanted it, I would tell them up front that you have to purchase software to achieve what they are after and then add the cost of the software into your billing. Not as a line item, but maybe like adding a couple extra hours or something.
There are also a ton of sites out there that cater to flash, and have lots of free scripts to offer. using what is out there really cuts down on the learning curve as you can see how things are accomplished.
Good Luck!
Thread: Is it always this quite here? | Forum: Photography
Well I am pleased to meet everyone. Sorry I didn't get back sooner, but I got a call from a client and had to go out of town to shoot a building. Have to do the boring stuff to pay the bills...
The post work is a combination of a photo of a CD in the sunlight (for the rainbow effect) then a series of blending changes, motion blurs and adding noise through a number of layers at different opacity levels. I just love playing with different effects.
At any rate... I am glad to be back, and hope I can spend time sharing with you all.

Thanks TwoPynts. Very nice to meet you.
I may have posted some desert stuff, but if I did I don't remember doing it. Then again, I have a hard time remembering my own name sometimes.
However, I do remember being in Boca Raton (Mouth of the Rat) a long time ago, and it is a wonderful place.

I hope this qualifies for low light. Shot during the morning twilight (5:30 AM) from calcite canyon in the Anza-Borrego Desert of Southern California.
It does look better larger, is there a place here at Renderosity to post a larger version? If so, where and how?

Thread: Question - Too Dark? | Forum: Photography
yes... too dark. I am not sure if it is intentional or not, but a lot of yellow overtones in this image also. Maybe pulling some of the black out of the yellows would tone down the yellows and lighten it also. Might be worth a try anyway just to see what happens.
Thread: Do we have a Lawyer (or knowledgable Photographer) in the house? | Forum: Photography
This was all discussed several years ago. If I remember correctly a copyright notice and personal responsibility statement were written for the TOS, but then edited out by people a lot smarter then me. However the premise is still very simple. If one wants to post any images to this site, they have to be a member. If they are a member they have to agree to the TOS. If they agree to what is stated in the TOS, then whatever is put there is legaly binding as long as it is spelled out carefully and in full detail.
Thread: Color or BW? | Forum: Photography
As you are the artist, it is up to you to decide. What is it that you want your image to say, and what do you believe does it the way you want to communicate it

I agree that it is a bit too much, but It was my first experiment with the program, and done in about two minutes. Seems like a worthwhile tool though :-)

I hope you don't mind, but I ran this through Neat Image Pro to see if the noise could be reduced. It seems to me to work pretty well. I also tweaked the color a bit, but it is probably not as you saw it.
Again... My apologies for playing with your image, but I couldn't resist.

Thread: Can Anyone Post Here? | Forum: Photography
Thanks to all who remember me, and Hello to anyone I haven't met before.
I just wanted to put something up so that people will know I haven't forsaken photography, or photographic based art for my studies in digital film/video and 3D work.
I don't expect to have much free time, or to be anywhere near as active as I was in the past (sorry PC no time for tutorials right now), but I will stop by as much as time permits.
For those who are interested, or wondering...
The image posted is comprised of five photographs (my own for those who do not know me yet, because i would not work with anything else). The original is 2550 x 3600 @ 300 PPI and is at least 20 layers deep over three or four iterations during the creation process. It includes textures made from the same photographs, some layers that were created in Painter 7 (also from the original photographs), a variety of hue/saturation - level - curve adjustments along with some lighting effects. A number of masks created using Photoshop's pen tool and a touch of Photoshop's liquify filter along with some brushing with the old Wacom.
I know there is more, but I cannot remember it all right now.
BTW... There is a lot of interesting work posted that has been posted lately. I wish I had time to comment on it all. Maybe soon.
Thanks Again
