Quote - You'll need to have the figure in its zero pose but it can be morphed.
By this, I assume you mean x,y,z translations (for both Body and Hip) are at 0, and I used the Joint Editor to Zero Rotations?
I did not choose Zero Figure, because that undoes all the figure's morphs and resizing. But I did zero everything else.
Then I add the clothing figure I want to fit to the scene. I scale it and move it to fit to the figure as best I can. I move it by adjusting the Hip translation dials. I scale it by scaling the entire figure (Body).
Quote - When you click the fitting room's "New" button the pop up window gives some options. Under Object you would select the clothing then if you have posed or morphed that in any way DO NOT select the "zero figure" option. The goal will be the figure. If it was already in its fully zero pose then selecting its "Zero figure" option in the fitting room will not make any difference. HOWEVER if you are fitting the clothing to a morphed figure then DO NOT select that option since if you do the fitting room will ignore the morphs.
Check - I did not zero either figure or clothing item.

Quote - What figure pose did you use? Did you select the option to zero the clothing?
Did you select the option to zero the figure?
Â
Zeroed translations and rotations.
No.
No.
Then I Create Figure. I unchecked the parts of the base figure the clothing figure would not conform to (chest, feet). I left Transfer morphs and Zero rotations checked, but not Autogroup.
Same result. Sigh.

Okay, so I made sure all the figure's translations were at 0. Did the same with hip.
Then fitted the clothing item to the figure as close as I could.
Went into the Fitting room again, fitting the item, created a figure. Went back to the Pose room and conformed the new item. This is what I got this time:
Â
Â
So, at least it's "on" the figure this time, but still not conforming at all.

Quote - Once you conform it,try zeroing the item. Â If that makes it fit, then under Edit, select Memorize Figure then save it to the library. Something that PhilC told me about when I was having the same problem a little while ago.
Â
Didn't work. I still have no clue what I'm doing wrong.

Quote - Make sure you've got all the translation, body, hip, etc set to 0Â Usual culprit for me is the hip translation, leaves me scratching my head.
Â
But what if I need to move the figure to get it to fit the character better prior to fitting? If I set the translations to 0, it sits about a foot to the left of the character...

Quote - Did you Zero the figure before attempting to use the fitting room? That may be where you're running into trouble if you haven't.
Â
I used the Joint Editor to zero the rotations. When I choose Zero Figure, it undoes all the morphs. I want to conform the shorts to my modified figure, not the default V3 figure.

Thread: Does not find light sets? | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Quote - OK that squashes that idea :)
Are the lights in a remote runtime library?
If so does it work if they are in the local library?
I've tried both -- selecting lights from the local library and remote runtimes. I get the same phenomenon.
Once I do select a light set manually (from the "Please locate file..." dialog), Poser remembers that directory, and looks for any selected light sets there. If I subsequently choose a light set from that directory, the script finds it. But if I browse to another directory and choose a light set, Poser asks me to locate the file again when it tries to load it.
Interestingly, the script also seems to remember the LAST directory from which IÂ manually selected a light set, even between restarts of Poser. I am not sure how that's happening, since IÂ added no code to store that information.

C:Program Filese frontierPoser 7
It's version 7.0.4.220, on Windows XP.
Thread: Using Eclipse with Poser -- how to import Poser module | Forum: Poser Python Scripting
Yeah, I know IDLE is an IDE -- I meant I wanted to be able to debug a PoserPython script as it runs from within Poser. Apparently this can be done with IDLE, if you follow the tutorial instructions to make it run within Poser, which I haven't done yet since it seems to require using an older version of Python. I was hoping it might be possible to do the same with Eclipse.
As an IDE, Eclipse is a lot more convenient since I can just link my Pydev project to the PoserPython file structure, and Eclipse is much more full-featured than IDLE. But I guess I'll have to do debugging the hard way. Ah well.
Thread: Cloth Simulation not working | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Well, the three tutorials I have used are the ones from the Poser 5 manual, the Poser 5 handbook, and HMann's clothing tutorial. For all, the steps are basically the same: 1. Add a figure (either Vicky or Judy). 2. Add a dynamic clothing prop (for Judy I used the Beach Dress). 3. Zero Pose Judy/Vicki in frame 0. 4. Choose the final pose I want in a later frame (15 in some cases, 30 in others, or using HMann's tutorial, just a 6-frame animation, which has worked in the past). 5. Create a new simulation. 6. Simulator settings: In some sims I have left it at zero drape frames, in others I set 20 drape frames, though as I understand it this is not necessary for most props, if there isn't a lot of draping (like with a T-shirt). If I click the "Calculate Drape" button I get the same result as for "Calculate Simulation": it just runs forever. 6. Clothify the clothing prop. Add Judy/Vicki as the object to collide against. I've tinkered with decreasing the collision offset and depth settings, I've done it with and without "Start drape from zero pose," I've set it to ignore hand, head, and feet collisions. 7. Calculate Simulation. And wait forever.

Well, I have tried several different simulations, including some that have worked before. I've tried some of the basic tutorials such as using Judy with the Beach Dress that comes with Poser 5. All of them have the same problem -- the simulation never starts.

No. I've considered that, but I was hoping someone might have another idea before I do that, and redownload all the service packs, etc.
