Actually, it's good news for them too: For the last several years Vue has been sold on a subscription basis ($200 a year). Up to now, when the sub expired, they had 2 choices: fork over another $200 or stop using it completely. But now when their current sub runs out, they can keep using it and save the $200 to spend on something
else.

A bit like what Planetside did with Terragen... When they started their subscription system for TG4 I said goodbye  and kept using TG3...

Great news for us users who didn't have the money to use the full version. Probably bad news for the ones who own a paid version and now are left without support and updates.
But I'm downloading PlantFactory 2024 for Windows and the PlantCatalog Collections. It takes time because of a slow server and big files but hey, it's free! And I'm Dutch ;-)

Please, reinstate the old notifications systems where I got a notification if someone commented on one of my gallery images. Found out by accident someone posted a comment on one of my older images and I don't want to check my whole gallery every week to see if this happened again. That's not doable, not if one has a regular job and wants to pay attention to one's family and do another couple of real life things like making art.

Helgard , it's not the commercial use restrictions  but the non commercial usage restrictions that are very limiting for a free item.
Anistock does not grant you any licence to use the content in any final materials distributed either internally or externally by yourself or your company, including any electronic or on-line system. Except for this limited, internal testing and sample use, Anistock grants you no other rights, and you may not distribute, sub license or make available for use or distribution any watermarked images/content

So, in plain no "legal eagle" English it says you can download it and have a look at it and that's all!
The blurry photo's you mentioned can at least be used as part of something.

That's one short clip you get for going through all the trouble of registering: five seconds of QuickTime movie. Little joy here.

I said that there are computers infected with trojans generating spam emails with spoofed 'send from' info to amongst others, Renderosity members. And that's a perfectly good explanation of what's going on, why you are receiving spam on and from Rendo accounts.
I didn't say it's your fault or it's your system doing that.  You are on the receiving end and sometimes it looks like you've sent spam to yourselves thanks to the 'spoofing'.
That's all.

Then, why are you blaming Renderosity? I DID consider Renderosity might have been infected but knowing the Rendo/Bondware admins I've dismissed this.

As you may know in the last year there has been an enormous increase in trojans and these have been "improved" a lot too. From the specialized agencies we also learned that there's been an increase in the illegal trade of data like addies and scripts/techniques ( a good script is worth a fortune). So a rise in spam could coincide with an overhaul of the Rendo/Bondware servers, yes, but is not neccesarily related.

It's not about sites you hit, it's about people you sent mail to, people that thus have your email addy stored on their infected system.
