LaurieA, Forgot to thank you for the tip about locking actor for the hair. Works fine! I used to know that...I just misplaced it among the gray matter! Old age is a bitch! HAHA!

LaurieA, I couldn't find any reference to clearing pose dots...only how to set them. (Poser 4). Some references in the manual point to a page that has nothing to do with what I was looking for. Sheesh...publishers! Couldn't locate any mention of use of ALT keys either. Still, it's often easier just to ask someone here than wade through the manual.:)

Possibly BabaLouie but the reality of all things boils down to just two things: Money and choices. They sometimes go hand in hand, but ultimately it's all about money. If they feel it profitable to continue development then perhaps so. If the long term forecast doesn't look promising, then they'll cut their losses, take a tax loss as a bad business investment and we'll all grow old together with our Bryce 4 & 5's. Sad but true, often times businesses do not really see the people behind their products. They do, however, see dollars and cents. Let's hope for the best. - Art -

Nice fantasy pic Phoenix and glad to see you've returned. Yea, the bridge would be more realistic with a different texture. ;) - Art -

First time it played fine, then like Hawkfyr, I had to drag the button manually, but great job on the dust effect! - Art -

Daniel, If yyou can still find it, Susan Kitchens wrote a very good book called Real World Bryce (Peachpit Press). The ISBN # is: 0-201-69419-0 Another good book is Bryce 4 FX by R. Shamms Mortier (Coriolis). ISBN # : 1-57610-482-6 I think Susan Kitchens is either in the process of releasing or has already released a new version, but at this time I do not know the title. I got mine at Borders Books, though you could probably find them through Amazon.com or Barnes&Noble. Hope this helps. - Art -

Daniel, It seems with Bryce, there's no hard and fast rule etched in stone. There are many ways to accomplish the same thing. Like so many things, books are great, but you can't beat hands-on experience. Play with Bryce, experiment, ask questions and above all, have fun. Regards, - Art -
Thread: Writing in the sand | Forum: Bryce
Daniel, One way...select create terrain. Click on the E and in the editor, lower the terrain. Drag the level indicator down (you'll have to experiment with this setting). Set flow to 2 or 3 dots, set hard to almost soft or fuzzy. Lastly select 256 in the grid section. Then simply write w/ pen/tablet or mouse. Don't forget about the Undo botton Assign a material texture (sand) and render. Hope this helps. - Art -
Thread: Epson 1270 | Forum: Bryce
I don't know how widespread this "problem" is but I've been using the 1270 to reproduce my wife's original oil paintings and they look fantastic! It handles a wide variety of mediums and produces photo-quality prints. I personally have not noticed any orange casting, fading or any other anomalies.

Eshal, Feel free to drop by my place and snatch the Conestoga wagon(s) I did a few years ago. Cover not included. Looking forward to your "finished" project! Look in ARTSTUF http://members.prestige.net/artstone - Art -
