Thank you so much for all the responses everyone. I have not dealt with any of this until now and I just wanted to get some clarification before getting into trouble. I respect all artists and don't want to be disrespectful in any way, to anybody. I am asking permission from the origional artists and I am consulting with both CafePress and Zazzle about the issue. Thanks for all the opinions and help. (- :

Thank you very much everyone. I did not find the Content Usage License Agreement on 3D Cafe when I was looking. All of this brings up another question for me. I am going to be using Zazzle.com to provide high quality framed prints of my work, and it clearly states on their website that all uploaded work is to be 100% origional. Now my design ideas are 100% origional, but some of the models used are not. Am I mis-reading this? Thanks for all the help so far!!
Thread: Did you know Vue 5 can do this?... | Forum: Vue
This is a very cool tip, thanks. I haven't done too many indoor scenes myself, but I can think of a great many possibilities for this. Thanks again.

Thanks for the help you two. I didn't think about the shadowing, reflections and glass....I suppose I'll end up just using high settings, but with the sizes (i.e. 5200 x 3500) it will take days to render it. Not looking forward to that. Thanks though, for all the help.

So what your saying is I should use high settings when printing the picture to any kind of medium (i.e. canvass, t-shirts, tile, high gloss paper, etc)? Another quick question: I view all my final renders on my 20 inch Cinema Display running on an NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200 Ultra 64MB.....does the quality I view it at have anything to do with how others see it......In other words, If I upload a render I did on Final settings, and it looks great on my setup, can I assume it will still look great on an old 17 inch running on a Rage128? Graininess is my main concern. Obviously color would be different.

lilzeek, Before I add my two cents I just wanted to comment on something you said. "Just think if you had vue but no internet connection. Would you still have the same images? Yes!" This is false in my situation and probably in many other peoples case too. I am forever learning from viewing other peoples work, and having comments left about mine. An artist that I have recently taken a liking to, Englewolf, does a lot of metaball work. I have no idea what metaballs are...lol, but I've been playing around lately in the landscape generator, trying to create objects that don't fall into that category. After viewing his work, it opened up a whole new idea base for what I can create using the generator that I never would have thought of. I have gotten comments on things I have just overlooked in an image, though in some cases embarassing, it has allowed me to fix problems I may never have seen and it has made me more aware when creating. I would love if people made more constructive comments on my work, but a simple "Hey, how ya doing?" is great too. I try to comment as much as possible on artwork that I like, whether it be constructive or just "I love your work". I think when anyone tries something new in a creative field (as I am to graphic design), they just want people to comment so they know they are on the right track, and their work means something to someone other than themselves. When you are sitting in the captains chair, even if you think your work is spectacular, it helps a lot to have others around you, giving you support and providing new ideas. It's when the support is not there that people just give up. ~ Ryan
Thread: Render Times...Vue 4 Pro + G5 = Faster? | Forum: Vue
A post is never too long, in my opinion Walther, especially when you're helping me out. I'm taking a look at all the tutorials and all your comments have been very helpful. I'll also check out those links you provided. I'll figure things out, I always do. Thanks for all your help, it's very much appreciated. --- Ryan

Thanks again Walther. I never considered the possibility that there would be few people on here that do animations, but yeah, that makes sense since there isn't an animation area on renderosity. I'll definately try out the jpeg idea. I know I have a lot to learn. Any idea of any websites I could check out that deal with animation topics or have forums like this one? Thanks for the advice.

Thanks for the post Walther. I can't really answer your question about when I've last seen an animation with those settings because I'm completely new to animation, CGD, or video making for that matter. I have no idea what PAL stands for, I have no idea what a standard video image size would be, I'm new to compression options, don't know much about the technical stuff, but I really wish I did because it would make my life a lot less complicated...lol. I just like to jump head first into the things I love and are interested in. I've been composing music for 15 years and I've never had a lesson, but I can tell you how to set up a professional recording studio, how to set up a drum rig, properly place all the mics, what compression ratios to use, how to manipulate sound on a synthesizer, how to apply effects and what settings to use, panning, mix an entire song, master an entire album, perform audio editing, etc, etc, etc. I've been having a lot of fun with Vue so far, but trying to learn a completely new field of study while trying to create professional work that I can be proud of is pretty daunting. I'm glad that my render times are not strangely slow, although you would think that the time it takes to render one image, would be multiplied by the number of frames in an animation, to get the time to render that animation, but that isn't the case really...or maybe it is. I rendered the image "Where The River Goes" at a screen resolution of 1024 x 682 with max settings on everything and it took 3 hours. I suppose someone wouldn't want to explain video settings and typical formats to me, or even better point me somewhere I can learn it for myself. I'm also interested in printing my work to canvass in the future but have no idea where to research that sort of thing....thats part of the reason I joined Renderosity, so I could learn all I want to know and learn these things from people who employ the techniques everyday. There are some amazing artists on here and I haven't even scratched the surface of this community. Anyways, Thanks Walther for your reply, you've made me feel better about what I'm doing. Take care.

Thanks for the help agiel and GoofyFoot. I did it in Vue and posted it already. I wasn't aware that Renderosity embedded the link for me...Duh...as I said, this is all new to me. Anyways, thanks for the help. Take care.
