Maybe a multi-tier poll, with several questions, "create" "Render"Â "Modelling" etc?

Thread: How we are all treated here at Renderosity as Client, Sponsor, and Vendor | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
It has been published through one of the stores... IÂ won't say which one, but it can be found, if one takes the few remaining cues from this thread and chases it down.
Personally, I'm thinking that this form of publicity will unduly influence this product, the way it has so many others. Let it stand or fall on its' own merits, and the Merchant in question keep her hair, sanity, and dignity.
Thank You.

Froggie-dude, maybe you have a point.
To test your theory, go to any privately held store(like your local computer store), and ask them where they get their parts. You but from them, perhaps you get to know where and how they get the bits?
If so, they should be thrilled to tell you exactly who they get their equipment from, and gasp how much they paid. Because you bought from them. A lot.
And when they stop stocking video card "x" they'll tell you why?
IÂ Don't Think So**.** These people are in business to make money. To do that, they have to be trusted to keep their mouths shut on other's personal issues. Would you enjoy it if you submitted a project you put your heart and soul into, and when they rejected it, them post it here in the Poser Forum for all to see?
That's essentially what you asked them to do. YOU are not the merchant. The merchant saw fit to share her experience, and that's fine. Personally, I'm glad Jen had the presence to remove the vendor's name from these proceedings, so she's not humiliated by your venom. She doesn't need the sort of publicity this thread is producing. Â
Jen, if we might call upon you once more, to remove the name of the character from his posts, so the poor vendor in this case cannot be identified? She deserves her dignity.
As for you, Bob... Spare us the bull, and do as Sean has suggested.
Grab a nice steaming cup of STFU, grab a chair, play with you Poser, and find someone else to hassle. If you find a store that will tell you, the customer, why they shot down a product, then come back and let us know, so that we, the Vendors, can avoid it.

That first rejection always goes the hardest, doesn't it?
I could paper my walls with the rejection letters I've gotten from publishers. DAZ rejects lots, and I've had things rejected here. No big thing, really. Happens to everybody eventually.
Place your bets on what.

That's the shadowing of her lips on the teeth. Try a very soft light shining directly into her face.
So far as seams, I haven't seen any issues in the renders I've done. Occasionally, depending on the software and etc, you can get seam-looking things in Preview, but 99.9999% of the time, those rectify themselves when passed through Firefly/3Delight.
On render times and lighting: Blackhearted sent out a beautiful tutorial with GND4, that I absolutely recommend to anyone. The tutorial alone is worth the price of admission.

Quote - Now that was a commercial hidden in a rant that is trying to blow things out of proportion.
I was again dragging the thing to it's most exaggerated extreme.
It does seem like a little streamlining in the rules department might be in order though, Jen&co. A little clarity and thought, and this entire thread could have been avoided, methinks.
:)
Most of us do appreciate your efforts. /bow

I don't mean to get off on a rant here....
No, wait, yes I do.
I'm looking at the thread, and I'm a bit confused.
If we, the Merchants place an obviously commercial thread for a new product, then we should put it in a place that no one in their right minds would go(the same layer of Heck as TV commercials), but if my little friend Destiny(not a real person) posts the same thread anywhere else, that's fine.
Do I have this right?
What's to stop people from hiring the Mongol Hordes of Advertising to drop in and go nuts?
But, if I post something not available at the RMP, I get deleted for that, too.
The idea therefore becomes that there must not be a world outside Renderosity, or that commercialism doesn't exist beyond the Marketplace forum/gallery.
I don't exist in a vaccuum, and neither do the rest of you. Everything we do is credited, so our galleries become an advertisement for the things we use.
Our entire lives in western society are commercials, from the cologne Anton wears, to the jeans Conniekat's wearing, the restaraunt Jen eats at, to the car I drive. If we all are using something, someone else will too, because of it.
Shall we remove all those things from the face of Renderosity as well?
So what happens if I post an image in my gallery that consists of nothing but things I've made myself, and put on-sale at... Say 3DArena?
Shall I not credit it?
For the record, I do have items onsale, but not at 3DA. Shawn was convienient, and most of the Poserverse has heard of 3DA, at the very least. Safe for an example.
Most of those items await onsale dates here, as well.
I won't mention which ones, nor where they might be found. A dilligent search would turn them up easily.
However, it seems to me that a [commercial] tag would make more sense than banishing us to Heck(and obscurity) for being a vendor.

No, just in general... Lots of people in all the Forums are way too uptight.

Here I was, thinking that virtual libations might help some of the folks around here get the apparently very real sticks out.

Heh... But Complaint and Debate could be fun...
Or maybe a Virtual Tavern?

I'm not sure this would necessarily be a "hotbutton" issue, except to the merchants. I know the restricting of postings in the "Marketplace Showcase" to rendo-only products miffed a few people, but I can't say I didn't expect it.
Perhaps a review and consolidation of the current rules would benefit everyone, not just merchants or consumers.

She's better than 25k polys as she is... I don't want to go more than 40k all the way around. If I could have done it under 12k, that would have made me very happy.
That said, I may try the Carrara hair.

Not sure yet, on the fur thing. I'm trying to avoid adding any more polys to the base model. I may make a conforming hair after, though. Not quite to that point yet.
