Kam said in the original thread on DAZ that it could be a stand-alone program, and asked how many would only be interested if it were usable with D|S. Several voiced their support for that idea, and I'm sure a lot more than posted would be interested. So now I'm waiting with baited breath, and keeping my fingers crossed that the D|S and/or standalone version will have a special release price, as well :D

For smart parent, select the body part (in this case, the head), hold down the ctrl key to also select the object (in this case, the hair). Then click the little arrow to the right of the "scene" window heading, and choose "smart parent" from the menu. Some of the hair I've had to fiddle with to get it to position right, but most of it works with parenting.

I don't have any trouble getting to their site... have you tried doing a virus scan on your computer, or using AdAware and Spybot to see if you have any spyware? That sounds most likely to me... what browser are you using?

I have no clue about .pz2's.... I'm exceedingly new to this as well. In fact, I'm so new I want you to tell me how to save it as something other than a .jpg, and how that works... LOL. I've made several hair textures, and one set of textures for a room prop, but so far I still have to use the surface tab to manually select the textures.

Wow, Stew... you're work is beautiful! You're the first person I've put on my favourite artists list so far... hehe.

You can help out your eyes and lips by changing their glossiness... I'd put lips at around 80-85%? Play with it some... I'd put the eyes (iris, cornea, pupil) at 96-99%. Keeps 'em from getting washed out :) Lakys has an AWESOME tutorial at the Daz D|S forums with how all those settings work, I'd highly recommend it. (Oh, also change the lighting model on the eyes to "glossy" instead of "plastic", and change the lips to "skin", unless you want them really shiny).
Thread: Who uses Daz Studio - Why? | Forum: DAZ|Studio
I think the answers in the forums are amazing... it especially impresses me how many beta testers volunteer to help people out with things (waves at Questor). I've been fascinated by 3D art for a long time, Poser in particular, but I was always put off by the initial cost. I also used the trial version briefly, made a couple of very painful looking human pretzels, and gave up. Studio has been a LOT easier to figure out, for me, and I'm really having a lot of fun with it.
