Hi, I'm not even sure how to make the background visible or invisible. I always assumed it would be visible once imported? If you mean, did I go into parameters and turn off the visibility? No, I didn't do that.
Thread: Problems rendering backgrounds in Superfly | Forum: Poser 12
Hi, and thanks for responding...
To answer your question, this background was inserted by File ---> Import ---> Background picture.
This project is merely one example, this is a commonly occurring problem for me with different scenes. But even when there is no background picture, this doesn't explain why, when I export it as a .png, the background is black instead of transparent, even though that checkbox is ticked before starting the render. This problem doesn't occur in Firefly.
I do have Poser 11 running on a different machine, but the Superfly renders don't exhibit this problem.
I have a workaround for this (knocking out the black background and assembling in PS), but that can be arduous if there's a lot of detail, and I just wondered why it continues to happen.

If you expand the zip file that the product came in, what folders do have?
As others have said sometimes manual moving these folders to one of your existing "Content" folders allows DazStudio to find them.
But remember DazStudio is flexible and will search for your files in whatever folder you point to in the preferences/content tab. You can literally have dozens of content library folders and dazstudio will find them all, and on various drives as long as you point to them properly in preferences.
I only use DAZ well enough to export to Poser. Beyond that I an just not literate in the software. What I can't grasp is why DAZ can find the content I have in the directory structure in the OPost, but can't find this one product, which is filed IN THE SAME PLACE. Why does whatever logic employed in this file structure seem to elude me? DAZ cannot find this product in search either, although it can find the other products in that same directory.
I compare this to putting a bunch of excel files in a file folder, and knowing that when I want to open Excel and access them, it will recognize them as Excel documents, find them and be able to load them. Trying to use navigate around this issue is quite the exercise in frustration.

I have the usual folders - Runtime, Data, People, etc. It all looks as expected. DAZ can't find this content when searched, but it can find other content in this same directory. I always thought what I was doing was a "manual install," based off comments I had read about non-DAZ content elsewhere. Apparently it's more desirable to install in the content library? Learned something new!

If you mean, have I searched for the content? Yes, DAZ can't find it.I agree, manual installation is the better option when installing third-party content into DAZ Studio. On the other hand. the suggested method you followed may have installed your content in another location that is not mapped out to the software.
Have you conducted an HD search for the files?

For a brief while it was restored. Now an entirely different set of gallery images are missing. Everything from March on is now missing.

Thread: Library Search | Forum: Poser 12
I am having the same/similar problem with Poser 12. I am using Windows 11. When using search, I can get maybe 2-3 searches done in Poser, and after that, typing anything into the search bar yields nothing. Poser has just given up. The only way to get the search functionality back is to restart the application.
It's hard to determine what is failing because I just installed Poser 12 on a new computer with a new operating system. I was using Poser 11 on another machine with Windows 10 and search always worked.
I did put my runtime in the D: directory (as opposed to C:) but if this wasn't going to work, it doesn't explain why the search function initially works for a couple of searches, and then stops completely.
If anyone has an ideas or specific knowledge, please clue me in and it would be greatly appreciated!
TKS

I just did that, and after reconnecting my Runtime, it seems to have worked. I wasn't asked to put in any additional serial numbers either. I hope this is a permanent fix, so thanks very much for the solution!
I also asked Renderosity and filled out a form at posersoftware.com to find out exactly what happened here.

Thread: Check marks to add item or change texture have disappeared........ | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Hi Shane,
Thanks for your reply. Actually, having the figure selected and double-clicking just produces the standard Windows bell tone, and nothing happens.
This is true for everything that requires a texture, or where I want to change the texture. Resetting palettes etc to factory defaults hasn't achieved anything.

Thread: Poser 7 Memory and Texture Loading | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
I found another source that suggested removing Poser.ini, LibraryPrefs.xml, and
Poser UI Prefsxxxxx.xml. These last two files aren't on my system (I did search for hidden files).
There was no change when Poser restarted. It still won't render.

The instructions at the link worked. I delete Poser.ini and UIPrefs.xml, reloaded my runtime folders and it worked.
Obviously something had gotten corrupted.
Many thanks!

No, I don't. I am running BOINC client with some scientific applications (they rely heavily on the GPU for processing) but I've used them for 2+ years and I shut them down when I'm running Bryce or Poser.
Haven't installed any new programs and no reason comes to mind.....
