Thread: Help to determine file associations | Forum: DAZ|Studio
Tom, If I remember correctly, the one marked with the ds has Daz specific materials. The one with the dpc has all the normal files. The file size is usually (always?) larger on the dpc one.
What I'm trying to say is that those that don't use Daz|Studio don't need the second file, while those that do us it do need it. D|SÂ will read everything from poser except lights and procedural materials... I think that's right anyway.
Hope that helps some.

Got it after only 4 hours of trail and error... not bad at all. True, it required some post work to look just right, but that was a simple matter. Just wanted to let you know I got it.
Thanks again.

Thank you both. Sorry if my second post came off a little "brisk", was having family trouble at the time :- /
I'll give it a try after work. Thanks for your help.

Yeah, IÂ already did that. My question is on how to make it appear to glow after the render is finished, thanks for your reply.

Quote - An older way, nostalgic? I was able to completely rig SpiderBot in under an hour (joint parameters, IK's, etc). Good luck doing that from scratch in the setup room...can you say, "system crash?"
System Crash... system crash... system cras... God D*MN It!
Yes, many a time actually. It was very frustrating actually. Was why I wanted to throw my computer out the window.

Isn't PHI just an older way of doing what the setup room does? IÂ always thought so... well it never mattered, when PHI was in use and common I was too much of a newbie at Poser to make use of it, and now that I know what I'm doing I don't need it anymore. Although it should be an interesting look though for nostalgia.
Thread: Making things for DAZ | Forum: DAZ|Studio
marineguy, Daz|Studio uses 3d objects, which have a .obj extention. You need a program that can either read, if you want to alter for morphs. Or create if you want to make things for D|S to use. You can use another free program like Wings3d or Blender to do that. Creating content is a hobby in and of itself.
Basicly it goes like this:
1: Open your modeling software
2: Create something with modeling software
3: Export Created somthing from modeling software as obj
4: UVmap and create Texture maps for thing you created
Beyond that, I can't help because that's as far as I've gotten so far :P

Yes Boofy that's what I meant . It was all in good fun. My style of humor is sometimes hard for people to understand. This being all text and no facial expressions.
Sorry if I stepped on anyones toes.
