hi esther, i dont have real comparison to a g3 or g4 which are much slower than g5, but i think from what i saw until now its worlds apart from a 3ghz pentium pc... and all i can say is - its damn fun working with! you will need some additional ram as rendering with big textures costs loads of it .... maybe the g5 is the fastest option to run poser yet, but there still seems to be room for improvement or optimization. upon using the g5's superior cpu architecture i think the produkt will show its real power. therefor im looking forwart to an optimized upgrade. for now the cpu enters some sort of compatibility mode.. but still fast but since i have the g5 now i did not yet see ANY program that could bring it to its knees LOL - which i was used to when working with windows

a particular morph i have whatever i do with vicky i dont receive to make her that innocent and beautiful

for what i know Ananova was modelled from scratch in lightwave, but might be they used the posette mesh and just modified. they don't look much different I'm remodelling poser work with AM now and it's not that complicated to build a similar mesh. -Ede

oh that would be cool well I'm still trying to remove most of the splines and get an easier model from the original poly thing... but it's starting to piss me off :) -Ede

i thought about trying to remove the unnessecary lines of the 3ds poly model after importing, but i did not succeed yet did you try such? -Ede

esmith, turn the reflection color of the hair to black and the shinyness slider to zero the transmap does not apply to those options an you'll gell glassy looking hair instead if you have the object shine hope that helps -Ede

boy this is my first time working with splines etc... no more polys what a great way there's a great female model with bones etc. on the cd and all i have to do is maker her look like annies face i just don#t manage to import the old face i'll keep in touch

here ?! steve, i just got AM2000 by fedex and i'm about to redo the model in AM lets say i'm about to learn how to model first :-) do you have any experience in AM ? i could need big help here -Ede

oh yeah, we all know how much i'm into this discussion ;) i hate it, i whish i'd already found the one and only cheap renderer with real skin, muscles, bones and native poser import for no more than a few bucks we'll i can't tell much in here some people render good stills with bryce, and with vue i did some amazing things myself, but the render engine is horrible slow, but it's very easy to use if you are looking to develop 3d models for animation i suggest that you trash poser and get an eye on Hash Animation Master, i did not yet work with it, but from what i have seen i can say it's an insane animation tool for characters, and there've been done some pretty neat models! take a look at hash.com for more info, btw it's only $299,- and thats a great price for what it can do i've not figured out yet on how easy it is to transfer poser work to AM. btw there is another human character generation tool out there, called something like "reflex" or whatever i've seen they'r site some time, it's about modelling really close to nature, with muscles etc and realistic animation of them, but the figures don't look very beautiful yet, more than Trevor from aeon flux :) but i'll keep an eye on it -Ede

Mark, the question is, can i import an existing poser model (with hair transmapped&conforming clothes) into CS and make it work like a real CS model (with muscles etc...) ?? next step would be to make it real cloth and hair with the CS clothing and shag hair (heard about it) will that work? -Ede
