You could also use a plane and a boolean modifier. It will make bad geometry, but the plane should act as a knife and achieve your goal.
Thread: How Do I Make Use of OBP File? | Forum: Bryce
Thanks, I guess I'll have to run that additional installer. I am completely new to Bryce and did not realize I needed two installs.
Thread: Convert an OBP to an OBJ? | Forum: Bryce
Yeah, my entire manager is blank even though there are files in the preset folder. I think I'll try the reinstall.
Thanks for the replies.

More help for Byce impaired user please.
I have downloaded "Damaged Engine.obp" from sharecg.com. I unzipped the file and placed the obp file in folder "C:Program FilesDAZBryce 6Presets". I click on create and nothing shows up, I just see a bunch of black squares. I restart Byce, the same thing.

I noticed that the scroll wheel only works on certain panels. Yep, it is still buggy and crashes quite a bit.
I am not a big fan of all that wasted interface space, how is this an improvement?

Is it soup yet?
I guess not, you can fetch the current version from www.Graphicall.org, however. I have been playing around with it just to get familiar with some of the new work flow.

The external LuxRender system supports multiple computers contributing to a single frame over a network.
Thread: Disable Recording Of Cameras | Forum: Poser - OFFICIAL
Yep, that was it. I went through and disabled animating for all my lights and cameras. Then I saved that as my preferred state. I also noticed that the hand and face cameras already had animating disabled. I wondered why sometimes the camera would record keyframes and other time it would not. It was probably because I was looking through a hand or face camera.
Thanks!

Can we get the python code now?
I am quite interested in testing it with Meshfoot which uses Campbell Bartons OBJ import to load it's meshes into memory.
Is your code a drop in replacement?
Here is a snippet from the Meshfoot code:
import_obj.load_obj(localObjFullPathFileName, CLAMP_SIZE=
0.0, CREATE_FGONS= True, CREATE_SMOOTH_GROUPS= True, CREATE_EDGES=
False, SPLIT_OBJECTS= False, SPLIT_GROUPS= False, SPLIT_MATERIALS=
False, IMAGE_SEARCH=False)
Does your code leave the most recently imported object selected?

Just use simple parenting.
Say out have a working rig with a foot contol called "l-foot"
Say you have imported a rig of empties and the empty is called "mt-l-foot"
Select "l-foot" in the 3D window.
Press the N-Key to bring up numeric input and type "mt-l-foot" into the parent field.

If you import as ARMATURE you have to relink the armature to the mesh.
If you already have a working armature that is deforming a mesh, you can import as EMPTIES and simply parent the empties to the controls of your working character rig.
