looks good. I'm not sure about the pointy water drops though. In reality I believe they would appear to be fairly spherical in a very fast exposure. you might try making a blurred effect as well.

Thread: Newbie question: help for realistic shadows! | Forum: Bryce
it can be done... it's an alt+click type of deal in the terrain editor, I'll try to find it tomorrow, I'm sure someone knows though...

...oh, and if you are using a picture texture to drive the bump then you can use that as a height map on the 'pictures' tab in the terrain editor. You can use the picture straight or blend it with the terrain map currently shown.

Also, (I believe) you can use the DTE to generate a terrain. So you could get a texture that you want for your terrain, and then generate the height map for the terrain using the texture that is driving the bump in your terrain's material. if that makes sense... sorry, I don't remember how to do this, but someone will.

I like the streaming light. Since you are only going to have silhouettes, instead of trying to model fish just use 2d picture objects. Find a photo of a school of fish from the angle you want and do some photoshoping.

for when the actual machine gun can be seen, a bright flash at the end of the barrel for one frame coupled with a slightly fuzzy white elongated sphere that is placed in the end of the barrel for 1-2 frames to simulate muzzle flare can create a nice effect. stunning gun shots can be produced in photoshop by just editing one or two frames in this way. obviously you wouldn't do that with machine gun fire though ;)

the sky and horizon combined with the reflective ball is very dramatic as is. I think the composition could be improved in a few ways: -come up a little closer with a wider angle lens to capture more of the sky and the shape of the ruins -move the camera and/or change the size of the rocks so that they're not coming out of her head. you might try to get some catch light in her eyes as well (sorry I'm talking like a photographer). just some ideas, I love the sky and textures
Thread: Smooth Move- part 1 | Forum: Bryce
well, I believe the smoothing is based on the largest change in angle degree that should be smoothed. So... say you have an extruded octagon and you want the sides to smooth so that it appears more like a cylinder. Smoothing must be set to at least 45 degrees. so set smoothing at the lowest possible angle that will cover the largest change in angle between two adjacent polygons that you want smoothed. hope this makes sense.
Thread: HDRI? | Forum: Bryce
to add... Bryce doesn't understand HDR Image formats so you'll need something like HDRShop to convert them into a usable format
Thread: A new Bryce in work? | Forum: Bryce
I think this project is years from beta-testing. It sounds to me like the site is at this point a forum for discussing future Bryce features, etc. and I'm assuming the interface shown is just an illustration. Looks like this could be a really good thing for Bryce and I'm looking foreward to when the rest of the content is up
Thread: Been Hacked(invaded), Bryce won't load !!!! | Forum: Bryce
try a ctrl-alt-delete and look at the processes and applications running that appear there. Type any that you can't identify into google. There are some sites that have lists of process names and could direct you to a specific solution. good luck
