Okay, this is interesting: I e-mailed the Cosmic Blobs people asking about file exporting and conversion, and it turns out they're working on the beta for a similar modelling program (not a kids' version), but which can export OBJ and 3Dxml files as well.

Thanks to both of you fo the suggestions. :) I'll see what I can do with them. (Hoping AC3D will run on Os X.3.9, otherwise I'll borrow the Windows computer at work and test out the convertor.)

An old thread, I know, but I just got The Sims recently, and Poser seems to be one of the most successful tools I've tried to alter models. There's a utility called Skn2Obj which you can use to switch your files back and forth between The Sims and Poser. Can anyone tell me where to find a good tutorial on using magnets? I've tried messing with them (while reading the manual) and I'm sure I could get better results!

Toonboom looks perfect....unfortunately it requires Os X, which my old computer isn't up to handling. Oh, well, maybe someday... And from what I've seen of Flash, its strength is more in moving predetermined objects around than in detailed traditional-style animation.

Hey, thanks! I tried Animation Stand before, it crashed three times while I attempted to get through the chimp-written tutorial. :P I guess they didn't put much effort into the Mac version. But I'll have a look at your other recommendations! Never heard of ToonBoom.... But I'm hoping Etchalon will work out. Apparently a new version is about to be released, with a lot more features...if it does close enough to what I want, $27 registration fee sounds a whole lot better than the competition! I can always port stuff to Painter for ink-n-paint work, if necessary.
